I'm sure my first phone from o2 was HT23 though I can't be definite, had yellow spots on that one,had it exchanged and this one is HT24 with no issues at all

I got the update in Egypt,
Middle East & Africa Region (MEA)
Try hitting the update software button.
Stock ROM Software Number: 1.28.415.9 with Arabic enabled menus and an Arabic/Persian added keyboard.

The IMEI problem you've got on your phone is really weird.
I mean, the Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) is released by HTC for a patch of signed IMEI's which belong to a region.
That's why you haven't been prompted, and never will, for any FOTA!!
You should check with HTC directly..
And have them replace your device

no ill just root it, if anything, i emailed htc already
IMEI just appeared on my settings it was unknown before! what the hell! still no update, ill try to flash the EURO 1.26RUU
UPDATE: I managed to reflash the euro RUU, lets hope it updates now!

Asia usually receives OTAs later than Europe. I don't why but HTC chose this route. Guess we have to be more patient.

ok so after i installed the euro RUU during set up i get the option to choose language which is mostly african, default South African english

yes but i dont get how the regions/batches work, if mine is a newer serials means i get later? sorry i dont mean to annoy you guys
i actually want to root but waiting for recovery to solve usb/charging issues

There is no consensus yet that HT24 serials are better. We cannot deduce this because there are far less HT24 models out there so far. But also, I have seen people with HT24 reporting the same type of issues, such as screen flex, gaps etc etc. I don't think HTC would have had time to correct production issues yet. I am sure later batches like HT27 etc will have a greater reliability rate.

Actually, Apple took 12 months to fix the random restarts of the first IOS version, which were 3-5 per week!, (which when you have manual iTunes sync, after this restart - iTunes would remove all apps as auto sync would turn back on)
Apple also took a few weeks to fix the 'heavy' battery drain in their latest IOS5 (some people were reporting full battery drain in just an hour)
The HOX software is nowhere near as bad as this (bug wise), & this phone is only just over a week old. - I don't see the panic at all.
Personally , my HTC is running just fine, the bugs I have or optimizations I want are soooo minimalistic that they ain't even worth moaning about, people on this forum take little bugs & make them dramatic until they get what they want.
My battery truly trumps my SGS2, my H/3G constant streaming test was a whopping 9hrs 15 minutes,
My browser is truly a revolution, never used one sooo good before.
People will always complain, more so than people will boast of their phone, so especially on a forum - it would seem bug reports are stacking up, which is not the case.
Sure, we all want 1.28 but only because testers received 1.27 which reported even greater battery - without this news, nobody would be any wiser.
