The 4.2 gapps works on this ROM!? I thought it was a 4.1.x base this whole time. I was going to try it out later today actually.

They never worked for me when i used this ROM. They keyboard and home button were both broken with the 4.2 gapps

Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2

That happened to me once on a different version of 4.1.2 with 4.2 gapps. For this ROM I was gonna get the 10/11/12 gapps here.

This is a 4.1.2 ROM... 4.2 Gapps will not work (though the "enhanced" 4.1 gapps with some 4.2 features will work)

If you look up about 10-15 posts you will see where Rohan is planning on a 4.2 update as well as an update to his kernel. I haven't switched to 4.2 yet specifically because his kernel isn't updated for it yet. I can't live without sweep 2 wake now. This ROM still runs great paired with his kernel though. I use multiple ROMs but this one is what my only nandroid backup is. I know I can always depend on KK.

I love this ROM too, but I stated in an earlier post that I discovered some major glitches that have steered me away from using this ROM anymore. This happened to me twice in two months now, where the entire rom just freezes up and when I do a reboot, it hangs at pink unicorn screen. I have to do a full restore each time. Very annoying.

Welp, hopefully we will see an update on this soon. I was extremely happy prior to the major glitching thing stuff.

I flashed this about two days ago, and while the ROM itself is awesome I've been getting a lot of random small bugs, which i would honestly expect from a ROM trying to combine three different bases.

However, my battery life is pretty awful compared to what I could get on my LGOG running basically the same app settings (greenify and one power), and I get a deal-breaker in the screen occasionally becoming unresponsive to touch! I can use the power and volume buttons but nothing on screen reacts to touch nor do the capacitive buttons. I have to hard reboot the phone. Great ROM but I hate having to reboot every 4 hours when I just want to respond to a text.

This ROM has been nothing but rock solid for me. Screen is always working perfectly. It's so stable in fact that I've flashed it on my fiance's phone which has major problems atm (don't ask) as I know it will perform without flaw. I'd be surprised if it was actually the ROM causing your problems.

Just wanted to bump this. Rohan, you still working on an update for this or has it died?

My efforts in terms of ROM development are now focused on LiquidSmooth, and I'm currently working on bringing up some of the features from King Kang like the PA stuff to LS (right now there is DPI per app, but not all the PA stuff is in there, like Per App Color, etc)

Thanks for the update. That's understandable. Disappointing, though, but understandable.

BUT, do you think you'll ever work on this ROM again, or is it likely permanently dead?

We'll see :) Maybe not on this specific ROM, but KK may be reincarnated, not sure at this point. Maybe for 5.0 :) Probably not 4.1.X though since its "old" now and 4.2 is where its at :)

    What is King Kang?
King Kang is essentially a hybrid ROM - its a mixture of AOKP, CyanogenMod, and ParanoidAndroid, bringing all their customizations to one rock solid and quick ROM. These numerous features combine to create a blend of features not seen anywhere else before. Make the user interface yours with this ROM. Change the DPI the ROM runs at, tweak the interface to your hearts content, while enjoying great battery life and stability. Never before have these features combined to create a ROM as feature-packed as King Kang. Credits for the features goes directly to the teams responsible - AOKP and CM for their respective work, and ParanoidAndroid for their wonderful DPI on-the-fly modifications. Without these teams, this ROM would not be possible.

What is the future going to be like for King Kang?
Currently, it is heavily rooted in AOKP as its main base. As the ROM progresses, it will grow and extend its functionality. Want to see a feature from a different ROM that isn't here, or have an idea for a new feature that isn't currently in any other ROM out there? Fill out the feature request form located here so that we can bring it to you! http://kan.gd/1t88

What are the current features of King Kang?
    • All of AOKP's features
    • ParanoidAndroid per-app DPI changer
    • Apollo music player from Cyanogenmod
    • CMs Backuptool when flashing
More is coming soon! Feature request here: http://kan.gd/1t88

Latest one for Jellybean (CM10) should work perfectly

    Information
Some AOKP features power over the ParanoidAndroid ones. For example, in order to get Tablet UI, you first need to check the "Tablet UI" option in ROM Control, then change it to the desired mode in Paranoid Android, and then reboot.

This ROM began as a creation by DAGr8 for Android 4.0, ICS. It offered a simple AOKP + PA combination.

The ROM is currently being built 100% from source. The "team", a.k.a. people maintaining and adding features from other ROMs is currently myself and DAGr8. Without the other teams though, this ROM would be nothing.

Too much has changed to list it all.
Poke around in the ROM to figure out what changed :)

A FULL WIPE/Factory Reset is HIGHLY recommended.

Tons of new AOKP features, bugfixes, CM updates, and more CM small features.

Sadly Per App Color did not make it into this build. Its coming soon, however.

    Enjoy
This will probably be the last build on 4.1 btw... 4.2 merge is in process.

    Hey guys,

I've been gone for the past few days because as expected, I lost power due to the storm. It did some pretty major damage to my house, but luckily no one was injured. About half our roof is gone, along with 3 trees and a window is shattered. Besides that though, everything is good.

Currently I don't have power. and I probably wont until early next week. The state of my town is insane right now; in a road near me, every 100 meters or so there is a live wire down with a huge 50ft tree on top of it. This won't be cleaned up for a long time. I haven't had school for the past week either, and I probably won't next week either, since pretty much 90% of my town doesn't have power still.

I'm currently at my Mom's work, since they have electricity and power, along with internet. I'll be here for the next few days during the daytime I guess, so feel free to PM me. I can't get any major programming work done for this ROM though since all my files were on my local computer which currently doesnt have power.

Hope anyone else who was affected by this terrible storm is okay- just remember none of the material stuff matters; keep your family safe.
