Guys I have an idea to take photospheres from legacy devices without gyro.
How the app should perform:
Take a central snap.
The app stores the data from the edges of the snap.
The app requests to move the camera in a particular direction.
After moving a certain distance the shot is taken and stitched with the previous image.
Anyone interested in creating in an app using the basic workflow of the above idea?

Yeah. Around 15-16 photos needs to be stitched. But that's what it happens in 4.2 camera but gyro and the hardware of newer phones stitches them seamless.

Its not at all possible dude , If you have really used photosphere ever before then you may know what photosphere is all about . And for those who thinks this a good idea then go ahead and try make that fictonary app yourself.

Also I have another idea.
The app requests you to take continuous video in all directions slowly.
The video is saved and it is viewed in 360 viewer(fictional name).
Based upon the video, the images from certain time points are snapped and stitched all over 360deg.
The angular shots are matched with shot at which photo was snapped.

photosphere without gyro is definitely possible

360 panorama app by occipital does entire sphere without gyro. Photosynth on windows platform does that too. These work by using accelerometer for orientation and compass for direction and stitch simulating the gyro

A Better Camera!

Take a central snap.
The app stores the data from the
edges of the snap.
The app requests to move the camera
in a particular direction.
After moving a certain distance the
shot is taken and stitched with the
previous image.

This feature already in a better camera app(Android 4.0 or higher).

If I help you,
Don't miss Thanks
