I made the tests on a freshly flashed rom. No apps.
When wifi settings are "always on" deep sleep is not working correctly
And battery drains faster. CPU is at 216 for half of the time.

When wifi is set to "never" - deep sleep only. And nearly no battery consumption

when you set always on, thats exactly what its doing.. always on. any app that needs to use it will use it. screen off max is 456, so if things need to get done, it will ramp up higher, those tasks will get done, and it will go back to sleep.

if you are shutting off 3g and wifi when sleep, might as well shut the whole tab off at that point.

you're worrrying too much about battery. android battery consumption can be odd at times. it can be higher/lower, without you changing a thing.

1% / hour is nothing with cellular service. even if you shut off 3g, the modem is still on and ready. this is the way it works with this suite of tabs.

your sanity check is seeing the 3g signal bars. if you dont see them, then the rom has not been flashed. be sure you are on the p4 modem as well.

I saw the 3G signal bars in previous rom as well. I just flashed latest modem+1112+tinygapps and all seems correct. Did a full wipe to be sure. Got the bars. Keeping you updated as usual.

good. 1112 contains one more RIL that i brought in.

you can validate that you are on it by checking kernel time/date or in settings.

11/12 is the date.

if that drops, then i will send a test build to see if we can still use the old honeycomb RIL stack where this issue did not occur, to see if we can track down the offense.

pls PM me.

thx.

i am having problem with the browser crashing when flash player is installed. The browser will crash once you start viewing youtube for awhile (error message either wait or close application) or any video online that require flash. preshoot are you able to fix this issue?? Thank u.

or is this a known issue with this rom?? that the browser will not function if you install the latest version of adobe flash player?

im going to put that in perspective for you.

flash constantly crashes on my hexacore beast of a machine (what i use to develop and run off builds, etc.) when using chrome (what i use as my primary browser). i can barely watch any flash these days without it goin' nuts.

Today I had no network disconnection. That was the last issue. I guess it's no longer an experimental ROM now :) Thanks for this ! :good:

I haven't rebooted the tab for almost 72h, I travelled with it, it also had long periods of deep sleep, and until now, no network loss. Seems like the last RIL might have solved it. I can still see small sections of red in battery history indicating that for a few seconds/minutes maybe the tab lost network but then regained it (I didn't see this in my phone's battery history, same places travelled, same network provider, but I'm hoping it's just a glitch). I'll be keeping my eye on it.
It's also sleeping wonderfully compared to the previous builds. It used to stay at the lowest frequency most of the time, now deep sleep is dominating the cpu stats, and it reflects that in battery life.

Great piece of work and display of patience and perseverence, pershoot.
Thank you!

I'll start by saing that all credits go to :good: pershoot :good: So be sure to thank him !!

    INFO
    http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/
This is Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) + CM10.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v

    CyanogenMod-10.1.jpg

!! DOWNLOAD / NIGHTLIES ARE NOW AVAILABLE !!
    http://get.cm/?device=p3

    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
/!\ Before doing anything make sure your bootloader is unlocked and you have a rooted device!
    1. Backup your apps+data using Titanium Backup.
    2. Go to http://get.cm/?device=p3
    3. Download 'recovery.tar.md5' to your PC if you don't have it yet. It's Clockworkmod 6.0.1.0 (latest version). If it's not available on the above location, it's also attached to this post.
    4. Download 'cm-10.1.......zip' and put it in internal storage.
    5. Download the latest 'gapps-jb-*-signed.zip' from http://goo.im/gapps and put it in internal storage. gapps-minimal-jb-20121212-signed.zip has been confirmed to work fine.
    6. a. Flash recovery.tar.md5 on your device using ODIN3 (go into downloading mode, wait for USB connected on screen, then select the file using PDA and click Start)
    6. b. You can also use fastboot (for some reason I prefer this method). Just extract the recovery.img from 'recovery.tar.md5' and then flash it using fastboot ("fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (permanent on device) and/or "fastboot boot recovery.img" (just boot it from pc))
    7. Once in recovery: clean cache & clean dalvik cache. (I did a full wipe to be sure I don't report bugs to pershoot which are linked to data problems).
    8. Flash the ROM.
    9. Flash gapps.
    10. Reboot
    11. Enjoy your ROM :fingers-crossed:
    12. Put back all your apps (using batch Titanium Backup) but don't restore system apps.
    13. You're done!

If you need to flash the P4 modem:
    1. Get ODIN 1.85
    2. Get the Samsung drivers "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1_3_2300_0" (google it)
    3. Install the driver for Tab
    4. Download the modem image from pershoot's p3 repository
    5. Boot into bootloader (press power and hold volume-up and volume-down at the same time, then select Downloading).
    6. Start ODIN (you should see the first block become yellow on the screen => means your device is connected)
    7. Select PDA and browse to the modem file
    8. Flash it
    9. You're done. Make sure you got the correct RIL by flashing the latest image.
