After update to kitkat network keep going off every 5 minutes , is there any way to fix ?...

Its not rooted I'm on stock , yeah I have checked apn setting its good , I did factory reset too still same problem

Yes I'm having issues as well. My text messages are delayed. My wife sent me a messages in the afternoon and I got it at 3am. That was happening on stock kitkat. Now I'm on cm11 and it is still doing it.

Ok. So your mobile signal shows sections of black also except your battery seems to be worse during those time's when mine is awesome. Assuming now because my data is off for some reason.

Is it possible because I'm using gps only in location settings, that it is not polling my network constantly to find my location causing the black spaces?

Difference between us though is you are showing signal but saying you aren't getting data, mine shows no network but I get notifications. Hmm.

    Are you rooted? Are you running stock rom? Have you checked your APN settings and verified all is good? Have you tried a factory reset?

    I also have this problem. I have an excellent 4G LTE signal everywhere I go but at times I will lose data even though it shows I have data. I have to cycle on and off airplane mode to make it work.
    I'm on stock kk never rooted. I was also having this problem before the kk update. I was hoping updating would help. It didn't.
    I took it to local T-Mobile yesterday and they looked it over and checked software. Everything checked out.
    This is very frustrating when you're in the middle of doing something and lose Data.
