Well, considering the TW ROMs are also smooth, plus the convenience of multi view (though I don't use it often), and since I never cared for the toggles, lock screen shortcuts, and I see no need to overclock a 4 core 1.6 processor, yes.

My favorite aosp ROM ever was JBSourcery, it had everything but the kitchen sink including updating the ROM from within the ROM, but if I couldn't use it for BT voice dialing, none of its other features would matter to me. My phone is my only phone, even using it for work, the headset and voice dialing are a must have for me.

Even still, I restore this ROM several times per week because I really like it.

I am having the constant "Searching for GPS" screen lately.

  • Removed Facebook
  • Wiped Cache/Dalvik Cache
  • Fixed Permissions

Still having the issue with this though. Any GPS application (like Maps, Google Now, etc) do update properly so I know it's getting a lock without issue.

Thoughts?

Anyone ever get Netflix working? I saw there was a mention of it. But like in those posts, I get a bootloop whenever I try the Xposed method. Any ideas?

Maybe wipe your internal memory will help with the gps problem. Un installing FB clear internal maybe external as well. ..I always clear internal. Also, sometimes it's good to flash stock, boot, sign in, get signal and a gps lock then flsh your rom of choice

Regarding GPS & Wifi

GPS
Any background app that accesses GPS will show the GPS icon in the notification bar until it gets its location. If GPS doesn't lock, it will continue to try until the app times out. Some apps never time out.

To test if your GPS is working properly install GPS Test.
It will show you how many satellites your phone can view, how many it is currently using, and how accurate the current lock is.

If you don't get any satellites In Use after a minute try two things.
  1. Uncheck 'Wi-Fi & mobile network location' under System Settings > Location Access
  2. Go outside

Wifi
Some Galaxy Note 2's Wifi chips do not work with the Android 4.2 drivers. Mine is one of them.
To fix the issue you have to copy over the drivers from a 4.1 install.

The process is pretty simply. You will need a file manager that can mount read-write to the system folder. Root Explorer works great.
  1. Download 4.1 drivers here.
  2. On the phone, navigate to the /etc/wifi directory.
  3. Replace all the files in /etc/wifi with the ones from inside the zip downloaded in step 1.

This worked great for me even though 4.2 renders my Wifi useless.
If you want the full details of the issue you can follow along here.

No I do too. Was definitely not the case on S3.

I'm opposite from the s3. Aosp was amazing on the s3 battery wise. On the note 2 it always feels like Aosp won't sleep AS well. Not worth complaining about though haha both are fantastic on this phone due to great devs like nocoast and the rest of the carbon team. :D

I thought that was fixed... Have you tried sending MMS with the WiFi toggle off?

yes, I rarely turn wifi on...and I have even tried Handcent's setting as Default messaging, which will usually take care of it, but it's not helping... anyhow, that's not this rom, so we probably shouldn't clog up this thread with it, lol...so...no issues with it on this rom though?

It works for me. My only grime and complaint about aosp mms on all the aosp rooms is if I'm in an area with no service and in group messaging it will keep saying downloading and won't let me see the message. Try downloading the inverted mms in the carbon extras section.

    About Carbon

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.

Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

    Features
Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously.

    Download Carbon

All Carbon downloads and further information such as features, changelog, and FAQ can be found on our goo.im page.

Both nightly and release builds are available. Please note that nightlies are for development purposes. This means that they may not work properly, may not flash, may not build for days at a time, and will probably eat your cat. If you flash these, know what you're doing, have backups, and don't complain when something happens. It's on you!

    Support

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

    1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.

    2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!

    3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

    4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.

    5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Is it disrespectful if it's true?

There's 50 AOSP ROMs for this phone and rather than fix the bugs still inherent to CM it seems the "developers" just pile their crap on top.

All these ROMs are going to be great- once CM gets all the bugs worked out for them.

Sorry but you are very ignorant to the way Open Source and the way AOSP works on the backend. This fanboy and disrespectful statement displays that on many levels.

Most work in all ROM's including CM, AOKP whatever you name it, share mostly the same code. That codebase is AOSP (Android Open Source Project).. Beyond that is fixes put in place by the vendors which developers then pick from their gerrit and git repos.. This last thing happens to be what CM is very very good at. So with many of the needed vendor fixes already in CM it is much easier to start from that as a baseline. Especially when you are try to get a new phone working.

Beyond the original codebase and the vendor fixes are patches and fixes put in place by the community. This is not meant as disrespect to CM, that project has a lot of very talented developers and are an asset to the community. But many of the fixes you are implying to are found fixed then submitted to CM's gerrit by non CM developers.

While many of the AOSP ROM's released might not have the impact that CM does they defiantly provide fixes that make their way to your phone.

Adding i605 to jb3 manifest tonight. You guys should have a 4.3 build tomorrow.

You should thank the Liquid smooth project for the base as you guys just forked the old project into yours and added a few things. Im not trying to start trouble its just bad edicate. This is the one and only comment i am making. but you need to do the right thing, bad blood or not.

we did a lot more than that, actually. anyway, the OP does clearly state that we're formerly of team liquid and that this is a fork.

Yeah most asop roms = broken bluetooth I'm sure these guys didn't fix it or any of the other known issues. Cm 10 has many bugs depending on the device and developers behind the rom. S3 bluetooth is working so maybe they can get it working fully and properly on the note 2
I don't think any of the devs working on this rom even own a VZW note2 so have fun fixing.

Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2

Well I have a VZW Note 2 so does Slick_Rick.. but really it doesn't matter if it's VZW or SPR or any other Note 2 version.. They all use the exact same SOC with some using different radio's.

    Nocoast has the TMO version
and I believe that Morfic just got one as well

regardless stop trolling and spreading fud... if you have nothing to say other than to ***** do it some place else
