I highly recommend the GO Contacts EX app with the "Blue Steel" theme (both are FREE, and it includes a great dialer!).

I'm thinking that full wipe is gonna make it less problematic because if just an update zip then issues will occur with a lot of users that modified stuff on their own.

I'm not sure if this has been reported as a bug but when the phone fc's it kills the data signal. When this happens it may or may not come back. I also am not able to receive any txt and incoming calls are intermittent mostly not able to receive. This rom seems very smooth and I love the AOSP integration. Thanks alot for your hard work!

Agreed. To each their own of course - but I'd prefer ASOP with the option of moving to go + theme..
I can't test that as I am back on GB awaiting your beta2. Sorry!
It should be easy enough for you to test since it's free? My guess is that it would have no effect since the stock dialer/contacts are still installed, but you could always try it with those completely removed as a temporary workaround...? I dunno...

That looks amazing, good job man. Looking forward to your updates. This is by far the smoothest rom I've used on my Note.
I've just been doing so during the week, and then going ICS flash-crazy every weekend. Once I feel a tiny bit more comfortable with an ICS daily driver, and this beta1 came damn close, I'll stick around for good!
Lookin good - did you figure out how to solve the missing navigation dock/notification panel doohickey? There's a hefty bounty out there for this, you may want to get a piece of that if possible!
P4S. I will be a sliding a nice donation your way when I get home because, despite the fc issues that you're working out, this has been the wonderful start to the gb experience that I have been looking forward to. I'm right there along with everyone else anxiously anticipating your improvements and really appreciate the work man. Loving your work and the level of communication with the following. Nohomo.. This ROM is deodexed, zip aligned, rooted, debloated, and based on UCLC5. When I say debloated, I'm saying that I removed what I figured to be bloat. This is considered beta because I'm not completely done with everything but my overall GOAL is to remove as much Samsung and AT&T crap as I can from this ROM and replace it with AOSP. Will get there one day. Just be patient
ROM INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
***********READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE T!!!! DO NOT RESTORE WITH TITANIUM BACKUP BECAUSE IT WILL BRING ON A LOT OF PROBLEMS************
For BETA v1.0 and BETA v2.0
- Download zip to SDCARD
- Reboot into recovery
- MAKE NANDROID BACKUP
- Wipe DATA/FACTORY RESET
- Goto Mounts & Storage/Wipe System
- Goto Advanced/Wipe Dalvik Cache
- Install ROM ZIP from SDCARD
- REBOOT AND ENJOY!
If needed, manually enter APN settings following steps below:
Navigate to Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names
Click menu key and select New APN
For LTE user, use a

Might have few FCs at first as ROM settles in. If you have any problems, never forget to give it a reboot. Messaging app FC at beginning of each boot is normal and will get fixed when I get a chance
