Don't know if this an ICS issue, YouTube issue or no HWA but YouTube videos is choppy and slow on 3G but on Wi-Fi videos works fine . Anybody else having this problem? When I was on GB MIUI videos played fine on 3G and Wi-Fi.

Sent from my White Evo 4G

I believe it's based around the no HWA, but I'm not sure. The videos will play fine if you enable the "High Quality on Mobile" feature within the settings.

Hey guys can anyone tell me what gpu rendering is? And do I want it checked or no?

also is there any way to adjust the length of time to hold down the back button to kill an app? sometimes just tapping the back button kills apps when I'm just trying to view the last screen and it's driving me nuts

I switched back over to my EVO 4G from my 3D.
3D is great but the 4G is more fun.
Running MIUI from sd and so I gave it an " internal storage " of a gig. :)
That took away some of the benefits of running the 3D.

Did a search through the thread and count not find anything in relation to this problem, and I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or knows how to address it.

The problem I am having is when I flash to either of the two builds in the OP the phone reboots once and returns to ClockwordMod Recovery. I cannot boot into this release at all.

The two versions tested:
  • supersonic_signed_041312.zip
  • miuiandroid_supersonic-2.4.6.zip

I have wiped /data, /system, /cache, and the /boot partitions.
I have tried without and with the Kernel listed in the OP, as well as the previous version. Also attempted with the Tiamat kernel.

This is the only ROM that I cannot get to work. I have tried almost every ICS build, as well as many other Sense and non-sense ROMs.

Even the 2.3 ICS MIUI listed in Rom Manager works without a hitch.

Anyone have any idea the steps I need to do to get this going, as this is the ROM I want to run.

your problem is the fact that your using CWM recovery... AMON RA is the best recovery for the evo i suggest using it

Looks like that was not the issue at all.

I switched over to Amon RA and the exact same issue is present.
It reboots, and then just goes right back into recovery after around a minute.

Used the latest RA-supersonic-v3.11-gnm.

hmm interesting... did you check the md5 to see if everything matched up? maybe you got a bad download (i doubt it, the chances of 2 consecutive bad downloads is slim to none)

that v3.11 i don't think is an official amon release, i'm pretty sure the last official release was RA-2.3 supersonic, but it seems like your issue is beyond what recovery your using

I did not check the md5 until now. This may be the issue. I am copying over a new copy to my SD card.

MD5 from the ROM on my sdcard

Unfortunately that did not address the issue.
It did change the issue though.

Instead of rebooting and returning to the recovery menu the phone now stays at the hTC EVO™ 4G screen until I pull the battery.

Your not flashing anything but the ROM itself right? which build are you flashing? I'm really at a loss, I've never heard of anyone else having this issue..

I am flashing MIUI V4 4.0.4 2/4/13 DUAL SIGNAL BARS linked on the first page.
The most recent build.

I am at a complete loss as well due to the fact that this problem is only present on this ROM. I have tried 9 other ROMS today and none have any issues. Only this, the one I want to use.

  • I have tried flashing.
  • Wiping all data and flashing.
  • Flashing and wiping all data.
  • Wiping all data twice, and flashing.
  • Flashing the rom + the kernel, with all of the above combinations. With 6 different kernels now.
  • Flashing to the ICS Build 5 MIUI listed in Rom Manager, which works, then flashing to this one which does not work.
  • Flashing with CWM, CWM Touch, Amon Ra, and CWM Triggered by Rom Manager from inside of the working MIUI.

I am trying to work things out with MIUI.US.
Hopefully we can get this all going again soon.
Swiper pulled all roms per MIUI.US request.
Seems part of their translation apks are in these roms. They asked for them to be pulled because credits were not posted.
To be honest I am not sure many if any post miui credits in their roms but we want to do it right.

We will do what we can to work with them to get this back up.
Please be patient as we want to get things worked out and also do it right.

    Thank you.

I have tried talking with MIUI.US and still no reply from them.
Stated the work done here would direct credit to them and we would do what needed to be done.
They refuse to answer and I sent pm the day this got shut down.

They have a right to get credit yes, but ignoring the fact this was the best port and made users happy is disrespectful.
We have offered to make things right and they do not reply.

I have much respect for the work they do but banning Swiper without a chance to make it right is absurd.

They think what was done here was wrong but they did not give a chance to make it right.

Official porter or not, if credits are given that should be enough as that is all they complained about.
Now that we offered to make it right there is no response.

    As I posted on MIUI.us:

Swiper didn't take initiative for any position. He made his own ports and released them on his own site completely independently of MIUI.us as if MIUI.us didn't exist, and as far as I know, he made no effort to contact MIUI.us about becoming the site's official porter. The only reason his ports even made it to MIUI.us is because Raadius was kind enough to post them for Swiper. Basically, this is Swiper's own doing. He wanted to be completely independent, which is perfectly fine, but he used MIUI.us' work to do so with no indication whatsoever of that fact. Whether it was intentional or not is beside the point.

Endless, you know, I have the utmost in respect for you, but let's revisit a little history.

Towards the end of the year, MIUI.us said they were going to focus on dev'ing ICS versions of MIUI. And they did; for every phone EXCEPT the Evo.
At that point, the Evo was basically dropped, except for 2 very half-assed attempts that came out in December and were broken. Not one person from MIUI.us offered us a word about anything. Nor was there any attempt to fix the releases that were basically unusable.

Swiper was the one that came in, looked at the ROM and offered to rework what was broken and forgotten, and came up with amazingly stable versions that put MIUI back on the Evo.

Every time I hear, or read about someone crying because they didn't get as much credit as their lame ego's dictate that they should have, I want to wring their necks. I'm sick of whiny babies that are more concerned with their own adoration than they are progressing the work on these devices.
That little tantrum has shut down more threads and chased away more devs who ONLY do this so that retards like me can satiate our need to constantly tweak and mod our devices.

Swiper sure didn't do it for a paycheck.

Bottom line is, if there was never a Swiper, or someone like him, MIUI on the Evo would STILL be dead. Now Sin is a great choice, but HE was working on and doing a great job with MIUI ICS, not GB. I will love when MIUI ICS is stable enough to be a completely functional ROM, but in the meantime, I want GB to be constantly updated and improved and THAT is what Swiper did, without asking anyone for anything in return. And what he got back was the shaft.
