I am on CM11 and have the same issue. you can go to language & inputs in Settings and find the physical keyboard and change the layout to the Photon QWERTY layout. unfortunately that only fixes your : and ; keys, it does nothing for the now useless sym key... the lack of a working sym key means i`m constantly switching between hardware and soft keyboard to type messages. i hope some fix can be merged into CM11 to fix this!

idc/kl/kcm have been recently moved from xt897 to common but not inherited from common in xt897.

The Asanti keymaps map SYM to ALT and OK to CTRL.
SYM(ALT) + key then can be used to enter special characters (ü, ö etc.).
OK(CTRL) + SPACE to switch between alternate layouts.
SYM(ALT) + SPACE to display the symbol picker dialog.

i've been using open recovery, just thought i would give it a shot since i thought it was a 'private' build.
i do like the touch feature, but i'll leave it up to you if you want to tackle it
i did get an error for the touch feature specifically, i'll install it again if you want the exact wording.

TWRP is touch based if you want that...

But I think I know what the issue is, I said it in my previous post. I'll look at it.

Mein as well... enjoy folks, let me know how it runs! Tested on CDMA, should work fine for GSM as well.

NFC, BT, turn on but are untested. Wifi works great, as does 3g.

I use PA gapps, but any 4.4.2 gapps should work. Enjoy!

I was a about to ask you if you were still making gsm Roms them I read the op

FYI, the unified builds after 7/1 will not work.

Please wait until the xt897 device is de-unified again from CM. Of course, this also means you will need to switch back to the old xt897 device (which will be somewhat unified, GSM/CDMA.)

    Gummy ROM is made for speed, stability and to stay as closely in line with AOSP as possible while still supporting a large amount of devices and giving you all of the features you love. It isn’t slowed down by features you’ll never use nor is it so slim as to be just another AOSP build.

    Features:

    * New base built from AOSP
    * Status Bar Mods
    * Theme Manager
    * Hardware Key Mod
    * Lock Screen Mod
    * Many Wallpapers
    * Performance Control
    * Application Permission Controls
    * Carrier Label Options
    * Background Style
    * Lock clock widget

    Instructions for installations:
    **Use whatever recovery, so long as it's 4.4 compatible**
    1. Download ROM
    2. Download Gapps
    3. Push to sdcard
    4. Reboot Recovery
    5. Wipe Data and Cache
    6. Install ROM
    7. Install Gapps
    8. Reboot System

    Contributions:

    * Thank you to Cyanogenmod for device and hardware repositories. Without this, porting Gummy to QCOM devices would have been nearly impossible.
    * Thank you to Google for the best source code.
    * androidfilehost.com for hosting our file servers!
