I'm using it for S5 as well. Works for me.

Rom toolbox allows u to change dpi really easily!

I set mine to 400. I then use Xposed AppSettings to switch back certain apps to 480.

Same here... Just rooted my S5 (AT&T 4.4.2). Texdroider does nothing. Rom Toolbox doesn't show the setting in it, and neither does the build.prop file itself...

it was really useful

I had the same issue, dpi changer apps didnt work and i didnt have the line in build.prop, add the line manually just to the bottom and it should work fine.

I just wish it didn't mess up the lockscreen and fingerprint scanner alignment when adjusting DPI.

There is no reason to use an app to change the dpi. Just use any root enabled file manager and open system/build.prop. then just change the line that looks like ro.dpi=420 (i can't think of the actual line because I'm on mobile but it looks something like that) to whatever you want, save and reboot.
