OK so I had more time to mess around when I got home. It's definitely not the kernel (well, that's not the only cause anyway), because I was able to break it with crpalmer's kernel as well. As soon as I flash this hboot it locks up on boot. Can still use adb though.

It works fine with this one: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2155069

I grabbed the attached logcat while it was frozen on the boot animation.

Just at quick glance, the issue is with sqlite. That's found in data/data/someapp/database I believe. You have an app(s) that has data stored to it that's incompatible would be my guess.

so wiping the /data (by a factory reset) would then fix the booting issue :) if idkwhothatis is correct

Its just so strange though. I mean the hboot does have everything to do with how the phone reads permissions and such at initial boot. Almost like a bios. But I do find it strange that you are having issues. Such an isolated case.

Ok, sorry for these probably stupid questions, but is it possible to flash hotboot, either this one or eng or any other, either with flash gui or goo manager? it seems in logic that it would work to me. As on past HTC devices with s-off and (sd card) we could do it all on device, no pc needed. just wondering?

No, you have to do it from the PC. :good:

I need to Unroot my DNA and I have the eng hboot. Does it matter which hboot I install to revert back or just flash 1.15 hboot and then do ruu??

Hey guys. Here is the PL832IMG with the HTC disclaimer removed as well as removed **Unlocked**.

    1. adb reboot bootloader
    2. fastboot oem rebootRUU
    3. fastboot flash zip ModdedPL832IMG.zip
    4. Profit

Credit to beaups, jcase, and crew for S-Off
Credit to RegawMod for the tools to make this possible
Credit liamstears for the plugin (saved me time lol)
Credit to Fnoji111 for the ENGHboot

    Enjoy!

    When I did the
    Code:
    fastboot flash zip PL83IMG.zip
on my phone screen the green bar went 3/4 the way and stopped but my output said it was finished I then ran the
    Code:
    fastboot oem boot
and it booted just fine... and it worked without any issues...

So I will be the first idiot to ask... how do I/we flash the stock hboot? From what I'm reading if I "fastboot oem lock" I'm gonna brick my device correct? So I have the stock hboot but its a .IMG how do I flash it. Also I don't believe this is the case but never hurts to ask will it S-ON my device? I was pretty sure S-OFF is always S-OFF even after a hboot flash.

no if you fastboot oem lock while on the ENG hboot it will not brick the device ( i dont think) but to be safe do the following commands
download the appropriate .zip from my sig then

    Code:
    fastboot oem rebootRUU

    then

    Code:
    fastboot flash zip PL83IMG.zip
when it says finished in the terminal (the green bar will stick at about 3/4 the way to being 100% this is normal)

    Code:
    fastboot oem boot
now you have stock HBOOT 1.33.0001 (i believe is the correct number) and yes you will stay s-off if you flash the orig hboot... ive already tested it

then you can lock if you want too

(to brick it with the ENG hboot you would have to turn the Security flag to ON "S-ON" I will not give the command to do so here because someone would use it lol)

lol... I bribed Liam Stears to make that dll for me to do this very thing.

He'll make a .dll for the stock bootloader too, but someone has to give him a copy of it... all I had was the ENG HBOOT

How often will yall be in the bootloader though? Lol Seems like a lot of work just to change a few things
