Step 3 Download Fastboot mode (unnecesary for baltic & France Edition)

Step 4

Important On the phone: Settings => Applications =>Development(its the last option)=>USB debugging(the first option).
A pop up will appear saying this option is for developers.. press ok
this setting will allow content to be copied in ROM, meaning that you can install android 2.1 to phone

-Extract KDZ_FW_UPD and open the folder.
-Find Windows Enabler.exe and open
-see in the systray and clickicon Windows Enabler until Icon change to ON.
-Open KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
-In the KDZ Form, Click 1st Drop Down menu, and select "3GQCT"
-Click Browse File Button, and select file "out.kdz"
-And click "??????????????????" button

*Please wait a moment until your phone is restart. After startup the phone, you must close a KDZ_FW_UPD.exe.

*Your phone is update finish when you see "Log finished" in history panel.

Step 5

* After upgrade you must plug out your phone from computer and reboot your phone.

* When phone is off, you must press Volume Up + search Button + Power button, hold until show "fastboot mode" in your phone.

* After your phone in Fastboot mode, please plug in your handphone to PC. (please verify Android SDK already install)

* Please extract a fastboot file in SDK/Tools folder.

* In SDK folder,please check a Fastboot.exe
if you found you must open CMD and type like this : "fastboot.exe flash system system.img"

* Wait a moment

* if finish, please type a "fastboot reboot"
* when your phone already back from reboot, please check superuser.apk in your phone.

So could anyone please tell me what does Fastboot do ? I installed my Eclair the same way but without Fastboot. Oh and i rooted my phone by some guy @ MoDaCo who created 1click root for Optimus.

when phone is off, you must press Volume Up + search Button + Power button, hold until show "fastboot mode" in your phone.

Not working, when i do it. Normal boot lg then android, it doesn't say FastBoot Mode.

what a version ROM eclair in your phone? you using out.kdz or different ?
i'm using a out.kdz. this ROM already modified from Russian.

But why would you need to install fastboot?
I've flashed my GT540 several times and never had to use that and it roots just fine... so what is it for?

I was askimg what is the puepose of fastroot, not how to turn it on.

I don't understand "drop it".

I tried the updater and then the log reached 207 or something then said update failed and now the phone wont turn on. Any ideas?

probs with KDZ_FW_UPD.exe

When running KDZ_FW_UPD.exe I've got problem when pressing "????????????????????????" Windows 7 x64 says it stops and that's it. Any ideas?

Hi guys,

thanks for the tut, but I have few questions:

1. I flashed my phone with the first 2.1 rom that became available (V20B_00.kdz) and I am curious if this rom has fastboot already enabled since acording to the tut, I can skip step 3 if I have the baltic rom ( which i think was the first available).

2. What is step 5 for? Is this only for rooting the device?

3. Can I flash custom roms when they become available?

2. my phone is from t-mobile macedonia. can i use this rom for my phone or do i have to download the version for t-mobile macedonia and were can i download it if i need it??

I would like to know this too. Does the Baltic 2.1 ROM have fastboot? If so how do i enter it. ?
