It works correctly some times and other times I need to launch the app directly. I haven't been able to figure out a pattern yet.

I don't have this problem...
Only problem I have come to with Viber app that flashbar service force close sometime so I clear this system app ....and delete Viber and reinstall again and now works without problems:thumbup:

Any suggestions on a program to use for editing .IMG files? I'm trying to find the recovery for my phone. I've pulled the system.img after hours of tinkering. I've seen a lot of programs on the web but some of them I just don't trust.

DiskInternals LinuxReader. It is also included in android kitchen. You can mount the images to access the files inside. You need to pull the .pit file to find the partition layout.

Are trying to find it on your new phone??? If so let's continue this in pm, or at least the s959g thread.

So I take it no one else experiences sleep of death on this ROM? I did a clean install (wiped cache/data/system/emmc, then installed zip) and everything was running great until last night. Had to hold power and wait for a reboot to get it back.

I don't know how to troubleshoot this one. If it's an app-related issue, it's something that conflicts with this ROM as I pretty much have the same apps running under ShoStock and don't see any SOD.

Any advice here? Searching for sleep of death or SOD in the forums doesn't produce anything helpful.

No sod here. Try reinstalling the kernel from second post. Be sure to wipe c&d, flash kernel, reboot recovery, reset profiles under kernel option, fix permissions, then reboot system

I have been on this rom since the first release and, while I have had some I issues with the install process flashing the kernel in, this rom kernel combo has been rock solid for me. More so than even SHOstock3 was. I have not had any SODS or freezes. BUT, that being said, I always flash the kernel back over the rom after I install it. Then profit.

Same way clean install every time and kernel istall after....and only trouble I have is if I try to dirty flash ..so far rock solid rom with zero issues. ... i have come across screen won't wake. ...but this is be cause of me not going by OP.... only times I see problems are if I do dirty or recovery data from prior rom to new flash. ...
Just use mr-cook safe wipe script before new flash and will do perfect each time and zero human mistake

@mr-cook, you could just pull some of the system/apps from SHOstock3, or, some other 4.1.2 port for the s2 (you could even try the i9100 forum).
I have all the apps finished, it's the framework "jar " files causing minor issues.

I'm not here to take others work. This is about learning how to do these things for myself.

AJK v2.0.5ns is working great here so far on this ROM.

Have rebooted many times and have also tested recovery to make sure it works. As a side note, it does *seem* to take a bit longer to enter recovery....or maybe it has just been a while for me on an SII and I forgot how long it takes. But - recovery does work fine.
