Still can't get your wonderful app working on 3g mate. I have noticed it's only the adult sites that don't work. Still find it strange that the the old version works fine but none of the new ones do. All I can think is O2 R blocking it cos the the new versions work fine on WiFi. It's just 3G.

Can you browse to those sites using a web browser over 3g? If so, there is one thing I could try related to the proxy server that I changed in the newer versions. I could make a specific version that undoes that change for you to test out.

Anyone else having problems with 3g?

I still have compression on. I'll try to post an uncompressed version soon for you to try out.
Thank you, I was now able to install with the uncompressed CAB file. :)
However, when I attempt to run the app I get this message:

NotSupportedException

And clicking OK doesn't clear it, so I have to do a soft reset.

Is it a Windows Mobile 2003 device? I don't have one to test on, but I'll try running it through the 2003 emulator and see if I can figure out what it doesn't like.

Try this version. There were some Webbrowser control functions that were not supported in 2003. I fixed it up and tried it in the emulator and it seems okay.

Future versions should continue to work with 2003. I'll just need to remember to post an uncompressed version each time.

Have just checked on opera and IE and adult sites R working fine with 3G. If you think it may work I'm up for trying out the cab.

A new version (1.0.3.0) has just been posted. This version includes the following:

  • Added automatic update check
  • Possible fix for "There was no XML start tag" error
  • An uncompressed version of the CAB file is now available

-- bik2000

Unfortunately there is still message error : "There was no XML start tag" :(

I never really mentioned it with the last few versions, but if you are wondering where the adult sites went, make sure you take a look at the Options window (Menu -> Options). Those sites are hidden by default now.

I assume most people figured that out since I haven't heard many complaints, but I figured I'd post it here just in case.

Hello Bik

Nice new version, thank you.

I found one problem.
Sometimes, a download just crash if i keep the pda busy with other software while downloading. OK, i would say it's my own fault then...
The problem is, that the crashed download is still an active process even after closing mVu. I can't delete the corrupted file and my memory is going down with each process staying in memory.

Can you kill the process using task manager?

Minor request: When a update is available, A message pops up telling you so. My request is that when that message pops up all you can do is click "hide"

Can that be changed to dismiss? Hide keeps the update message running in the background, I tried dismissing it in the notifications tab and had no luck. Your only given the option to hide it.

Hmmm, I thought I had it being dismissed before. I'll have to look into that.

If you are seeing a NullReferenceException in version 1.0.4.44 when going to the Options dialog, download the latest version again from http://bik2000.appspot.com.

I have put a fixed version up there, but I didn't bump up the version number so there will be no new version notification for this fix.

I've just downloaded and installed 1.0.4,44 and I only get 2 sites to search (YouTube and DailyMotion). (sorry just found your post about the others being hidden)
I also got a problem where I lost connection while downloading 2 videos and when I reconnected and tried to resume it said that it couldn't access the file as another process was using it. I have no other apps open so I'm not sure what that would be. When I went back into the download manager the file now shows the wrong file size. I removed both downloads and restarted the phone. Deleted the failed download and downloaded again OK. Great app though, thanks

    Thanks for the reply bik2000,

The application installs fine using the uncompressed CAB but when I open it it says "This application (mVu.exe) requires a newer version of the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework than the version installed on this device."

When I download the NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab it says its not a valid Windows CE setup file. So thats why I can't get it to work. Please can you help me?

I'm using a HP Ipaq hx2000 Intel PXA270 running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.

    Thanks

You need to install .NET Compact 3.5 Redistributable before you install the Messages cab you mentioned above.

You can get it from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en

    New Version - mVu - 1.0.10.9

I have just posted a new version (1.0.10.9).

This version has the following changes:
    • Fixed Pornhub
    • Removed Tnaflix

Tube8 seems to be working again without any changes. I removed Tnaflix because the site now requires login to download videos.

You can download the latest version at http://bik2000.appspot.com.

    New mVu Website

In preparation of the next release of mVu, I've also created a new website for mVu.

You can find the new site at http://bik2000.appspot.com.

I've already got some screenshots of the updated UI layout on there, as well as a list of some of the new features that you can expect in the next version.
