I'm currently using sevenrocks build, and I'm pretty happy with it thus far.
Debating whether it would be worth the hassle of backing up, wiping, flashing and restoring apps to move to Quarx's new build.
Anybody used both and can shed light on the general differences?
Is it actually that noticeable in average use? (and has camera performance drastically improved?)
I've had no issues with ringtone bugs or ghost touches, so remove those from the equation for this comparison. I'm interested purely in a comparison of their general performance, stability and battery life.
I am using the new February 17 Quarx nightly for a day now. No ghost touches so far, and battery life is still bad: Android OS keeps the phone woken up a lot, uses a lot of battery. 4% per hour idle with wi-fi on.
Not sure if this is related to our CM10 or Android 4.1 in general, but I've noticed that with stock froyo (on my spare defy used by my kids to play games), the games and their battery usage is listed properly in battery usage stats. On CM10 it all seems to be lumped together under "Android OS", hence the higher than normal usage.
About your 4% per hour consuption, is your WIFI enabled over the mobile (3G or 2G) data ? Or WIFI only (without mobile data) ?
About the Android OS battery usage, could the explanation be what ktmbikerman said on the following quote ??
Yes, the icon changes to wifi bars only but i'm not sure mobile data is off in reality, because if you look into the network parameters, I think that in this case, the mobile data check box is still activated ... I can't test now because I don't have WIFI access at the moment...But, that means that your battery usage could be higher with both Mobile data and WIFI on than WIFI only.... Just a supposition...If you turn on wifi, Android is supposed to turn off mobile data (hence the icon changing to phone only bars)
OK but I thought about all kind of apps, not only gamesgkkovacs said:

BL4?
How were you able to tell?
So far I thought only that Chinese program with those crazy buttons was able to do it.

Correct... it applies to some apps too, not only games.

I can see that.
I need the same info so I thought I can use your method.
