try this, i know its weird. when you set your settings the first time, and it reboots, then boots up, then reboots again, let it reboot again, then boot up a third time. the third time it should be fine. if not, let it reboot one last time.

I tried something different, I went and setup my gamma settings and before I backed from the "Detailed Color Settings" back to the "Tunables" section of the app, I turned off the screen and then I turned it back on, like we had to do before on previous versions of TKernel, when I turned the screen on the settings where already applied and when I backed out to "Tunables" the phone did not freeze or went into a boot loop. So far running like its supposed to.

Weird @Simms22 you think It was that new setup that settings stick without having to turn off/on the screen?

it seems that going from 104 or 105 to 101 or anything pre does this. but all i do to fix this is let it go through the reboot/boot cycle twice. i bet clearing the data from tkt first, before changing the variables, would prevent that.

Disregard what I said, went into boot lop galore, I tried what you said and nothing phone just kept rebooting, as soon as TKT app applies settings after booting the phoen freezes and reboots, Ill give it a try tomorrow, I might wipe RBJ to see what happens.

i had the same issue...this is how i fixed it.

I was on TF97 and it was working fine. Once I flashed TF98 and changed some settings in the TKT app then I started having soft reboot issues. I went back to TF97, and uninstalled TKT and also wipe data from SuperSU. I then proceeded to flash TF98 again. Reinstalled TKT and gave it permissions again through SuperSU and everything seems to work.

And I really think 98 is better than 97. And I was on 97 for a loooong time.

105 vs. 98

Hey everyone.

I'm thinking about flashing the latest P.A, but I have a few questions.

1. Why do most people feel that TF98 is faster and TF105? General UI snappiness?
2. If I flash TF98 on P.A 4.2.2, will anything else be broken/un-optomized besides the sensors not working?
3. Is TF98 more battery friendly than TF105?

Thank you for your time,
Connor Baker

1. 98 is not faster than 105...if you're planning to use a 4.2.2 rom than I think 105 might be a bit faster since it's meant for 4.2.2 roms. People are using 98 because it saves more battery than 105. There's a small kink in 105 where the idle drain is a bit higher than usual in Trinity kernels.

2. Nothing should be broken if you're running the latest 4.2.2 bootloader and radio with a 4.2.2 rom. I think some senors break if you plan to use 4.2.1 roms with 4.2.2 bootloader and radio AFAIK. Just use the latest bootloader and radio with a 4.2.2 rom and you should be fine (98 and 105 will work)

3. Answered in 1.

Hope this helps.

Tried it, didn't work for me, I think I'm going to wipe tomorrow

1. For me TF98 is allot smoother and seems faster. The device also heats up less compared to TF105.
2. No, I haven't noticed anything.
3. Yes, especially in idle, but it also seems to be more battery friendly when using the device.

The only problem I encountered is that the device reboots as soon as I try to change gamma values.

It looks like next week I'll be able to successfully corrupt the system on my new mako.
    Thanks everybody.

Hi guys, just an update: happy to report my daughter is out of the hospital, with a clean bill of health. Time to get flashing!

Oh and thanks for all the concern again. Love you guys. Mwah!

You all benchmarked. So you know why you still see quadrant being used.
Reason quadrant is used is that it's a quick check.
Sending Simms22 20+ builds in a day and asking him to run something long running like antutu would be flat out unreal.
We don't care about the absolute to have any meaning from device to device or from your phone to his phone.
    But we care about deltas.
Deltas tell you a story, they tell you if going north led you into a deep forest from where there is no escape or if going north led you to the castle with your bride to be princess.
I short, deltas tell you if you took the right path.
Deltas tell you if something you swore by still work in everyone's favor or not.
Deltas tell *you* if your developer researches the effects of his work or if he just plows you over with meaningless to confusing buzzwords.
Deltas tell you a lot if you care to listen.
The more developers' shít sucks, the more they will preach the gospel of "benchmarks don't matter anyway".
The more they say it, the more they show they even lack the ability to distinguish between a benchmark's ability to be consistent or their inability to benchmark consistently.
The more they say it, the more they show they are just interested in selling you snake oil.

    I like to quantify stuff.
    So I care about deltas.
