Hi Guys,

Bought a Defy+ with Gingerbread 2.3.5 for my wife and tried to install CM9, i followed these steps:

Install guide (courtesy of nogoodusername):
A How to on flashing ICS(Defy Plus Builds)

1:Head over to Stable Recovery from boot menu
2:Wipe Data (Nandroid Backup Before Doing this [optional])
3:Install Zip from SD
4:Select ur ICS(DefyPlus) zip
5:FLash
6:Flash CM9 Kernel
7:Flash Gapps zip(On first page of ICS DeV thread)
8:Clear Cache and Dalvik Cache

Installed also the battery fix for red lense.

So now when i power up i cant pass the bootloader screen.

I made an nandroid backup before messing up.

The message in bootloader says:

Bootloader
9.10
Err:A4,70,00,0023

Battery OK
OK to Program
Conect USB
Data Cable

Thanks for any help

The battery fix is for normal defy red lense... That might be the problem

It is bcoz he flashed cm9 kernel!
My new tut in my thread states that defy+ users don't need to flash kernel as they already have it...
PS: this happent bcoz hs bootloader version is more than kernel bl version...

If you bought a defy+ don't need to flash a new kernel already had gingerbread you only need to flash different kernel if you testing a froyo rom, as I can tell if this is for you wife I recommend install first cm7 just cuz cm9 still got some bugs and if she is not like us that like to test, try and give feedback I don't think she will like cm9 the camera got a lot of bugs that need to be fix before any cm9 can be user friendly for a regular user, don't say don't try but I will not give my wife a phone whitout a perfect camera or she will make my life imposible :)

Hwa is no matter!
Just waiting quarx release froyo kernel cm9 :D

What do you mean by that? Why would hwa not being a matter? Full hwa seems impossible now... :( We have already 4.0.4 builds with froyo kernel from Epsylon, havent we? Why would a Quarx 4.0.4 froyo kernel cm9 make a difference?

anyone using Quarx's Defy+ builds on a regular Defy?
I'm losing 3%/hour after a clean install, any idea why?

(I don't care about the camera not working, I rather need working apps, which is sadly not the case with Epsylon's Froyo/GB versions)

Calibrate your battery and wait for few days and see how is the battery. Mine is very good it lasts for a day with heavy use. Btw I don't think 3% per hour is an big issue.
Btw2 the last build from Quarx is the fastest for me.

TO CLEAR YOUR CONFUSIONS ABOUT GB KERNEL ICS AND FROYO KERNEL ICS

I have seen lot of confused user out there asking about which kernel to flash and stuff... So here u go read below...
So our beloved Awsome Developers make two types of nightlies
    1-For DefyPlus(Can Also be used on Defy(RedLens))
These are the GB/CM9 kernel builds
These are found under /cm9-nightly-defy+/ folder of the servers which we have
To install these you need to follow the TuT to install ICS Defy Plus Above...
Green Lens Camera Wont work on these builds

2-For Regular Defy(Do not work on Defy plus)
    These are Froyo/CM7 kernel Builds
These are found under /CM9-Nightly-Defy/ folder of the servers which we have.
To install these follow the TuT to install CM9 ICS FOR Defy stated above

3-Well there is no 3rd build(There is The MileStone2 Port by Walter79,But now that we have camera on our builds that one is not usefull...)

+ICS bugs (all kernel versions) http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1381887

ok, you know what? i tired of this. I'm reading in all kinds all replys (here and in other threads/PM): from good job to being dissapointed by the way i manage(update) this thread. I'm sorry for those of you who are dissapointed (but bear in mind that i do this for free, in my spare time, for you) and lots of thanks for those of you who appreciate my efforts in keeping this as "up-to-date" as I can. But I can't do this no more... users are getting upset for being to much threads about this, and since I'm not the developer nor have anything to do with the development of ICS, I will ask a moderator to close and archive this thread.

It was nice while it lasted. See you around:) Cheers!

     Feedback:--GodSlayer--:
Comes with Google Apps pre installed
    Added Defy ROM Updater
Camera one step foward: There is shutter opening sound( or something of that sort ), Camera app doesn't just Force Close anymore. Still cannot connect to camera
    UI is somewhat faster.

    What is Defy ROM Updater?
A ROM Manager like app, it allows to
    Check for updates
Perform all wipes( Davlik, app, data )
    Backuping and Restoring the ROM
    Entering Recovery Mode.

    29-Jan-2012:
     Feedback:--GodSlayer--:
    UI is much faster
    3G Works rather well
Added Interface: Launcher, Interface:Themes, Launcher:System in settings
    Added Personal:Profiles in Settings
    Added System:Performance in Settings
Camera very very soon - when you usually open camera, there is that sound, in this build, it has that sound but camera app force closes.
Added Music app( CyanogenMod 7 )
Added Dev Tools - ( don't remember it in previous version, perhaps I am mistaken )

    12-Jan-2012:
    -Fix wifi
    -Dual Storage Notification
    -APNs

    11-Jan-2012:
    -Fix sensors
    -mms.apk
    -music.apk
    -pin-code...etc

thanks for the reports, i fixed the apn window (merge problem, aosp 4.0.4 merge was not fast-forward) and the wifi off from notification bar by a temporary hack...

for the video, its still very sensible code, and our device familly (omap3) is almost fully ignored by cyanogenmod team ....

bootmenu and Usb apps have now the official ICS branch, but wifi camera and codecs will be a hell again to be merged...
    33
This build is test of hwa with some fixes..
Fully hwa we can use only after new gl libs, but for now we can't use new libs(thanks to moto for that)
On defy+ hwa completely unstable, than on defy.
