It's reaching 4 AM and I still haven't found a kernel that has SELinux permissive and firmly states G900R4 support. I just hard bricked my S4 a few weeks ago rolling the dice with a maybe kernel. So as expected I'm a little paranoid with my shiny new S5.

I can deal with a "More than likely" so long as I can bring it back with Odin or something. I'm tired and rambling. Anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated. This is literally the last prerequisite before I can start doing the compiling/other moderately geeky Linux things.

Thanks.

You should do a more in depth search. A cursory search shows at least one permissive kernel where posters (in the support thread) say that it works for the USC variant e.g. http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2714159

Keep in mind that permissive rights requires a custom kernel, which in turn requires an unlocked bootloader. Presumably the sm-g900r4 has an unlocked bootloader. Just realize that it is a prerequisite.
