I have successfully loaded kitkat onto an sd card. (sandisk 4gb)
But ...occassionally freezes/boots into stock and is a little slow.

Will my nook hd+ be more stable/quick if i replace my stock?
If so which CM should I go for (10.2.1/10.1.3 or 11) and can anyone recommend a simple guide please?
Bit overwhelmed as a newbie

Thanks in advance

I personally use CM10.1.3 on emmc replacing stock. For me it is very stable and reliable. I have seen no reason to update to other CM versions.

And the best guide is the dummies guide linked in my signature.

Question now

Only appears to be one theme ie green leaf close up background but not keen on the icons
Any idea how to add more themes or tell us how to change icons eg calender/contacts/web
...
You can try a different launcher -- FWIW I've been using the Nova Launcher.

You can also change the homescreen/lockscreen's wallpaper, move/remove default icons and their placement, etc.

Can you add different themes eg say kitkat theme or can I change the icons?

I'll give nova launcher a go
Thanks
