Hello

Sorry for the noob question, but i am not 100% sure about the answer. There's no way to root a 4.4.2 Moto X with locked bootloader (can't unlocked it of course :D )?

I'm kind of disappointed, i used to look at it before buy one

Thank you

If you're on 4.4.2 already with any locked Moto x, you can't root it....for now anyway. Sorry.

If you can't (or wont) unlock your bootloader, then you can't root and disable write protection once 4.4.2 is on your phone.

Check Moto's web site -> https://motorola-global-portal.cust...e/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a/action/auth to see if your phone is eligible. Keep in mind that once the request for an unlock code is fulfilled, if your phone is not a developer edition, your warranty is voided.

That being said, since this popped up -> China Middleman Back?? you might have a 3rd party option available to get bootloader unlock codes if your device isn't eligible to get one from Moto. This likely also voids the warranty.

Once your bootloader is unlocked, you can root via -> http://xdaforums.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/instructions-unlocking-rooting-dev-ed-t2649738
