I would, but unfortunately I have no idea how to do that sorry. If you point me in the right direction I'll happily do it!

I think it might be something to do with S-OFF as well.
On my wife's Desire HD, she has S-OFF and can get the Sky News channel working only, I've got ENG S-OFF and get nothing !!!
Even when I restore a stock ROM / KERNEL that's rooted......
I'm currently using the Speedmod SGS2 kernel and all channels play fine when I hide root. Let me know if anyone needs more details about this. I think this is interesting as this clearly is a non standard kernel surely?
This is on my Galaxy S2, I9100.
Flash stock lph kernel, you will keep root. If you need recovery just Flash back to cf-root first.

Yes it seems none of the HTC devices on Sky's supported list have been reported working still beyond Sky News unless they are on stock ROM and never been rooted.
Thank you, where do I get just the stock lph kernel from ?
I'm presuming I run rootkeeper before the flash of the unrooted kernel otherwise how does the root stick ?
Is there a cwm flashable stock lph anywhere ? my mac doesn't play nicely with Odin.
thank you

Ahh - thanks for that - I was going to post to find out the answer to this.
I too had rooted my phone using CF-root and to get Sky Go working have flashed the Stock kernal for my Stock Rom (Gingerbread 2.3.4 on an unbranded CPW phone). I am not going to mess with my Rom until there is an Official ICS Rom, but enough of that.
Whilst I was warned that flashing the Stock kernal would mean recovery would be lost, I have flashed, got Sky Go working - woohoo! and would confirm that the ability to backup and/or recover using either CWM or Rom Manager is lost.
OK some questions: -
1. So all I need to do is flash my original CF-root file in Odin and I am back to where I started? In other words, if I mess up flashing then CWM will see my backup made just before flashing the Stock kernal?
2. Having tried to flash CWM whilst using the Stock kernal in CWM have I messed up? Before I try this can I be sure that after flashing CF-root again, will CWM automatically then be able to backup and Restore?
Finally - a big thanks to all the guys who have made the Sky Go app work - I watched the footy over the week end using it and it was marvellous
I just hope a better solution will be on it's way in the not too distant future
Why be lazy use the search button or look at the thread....What page is gumbalds 1.5 apk, i am using the 1.2 apk and it works fine still on my p1000

Yes to use recovery you will need to flash cf-root back, it will be able to see all your backups fine then.
Find it in intratech thread on xda. Just have root turned on before you flash, root itself is not in the kernel it is just something that the kernel injects to your rom.

What app hides my root? For xperia play R800i, I've looked every were and can't find it in the market. I can only get sky news on the sky go app.

This is working on stock rom for listed device by SKY. Also it is working on some device not listed by SKY and yes to OTA hindinG the root. It all depends on your device have a look at the spread sheet to see what is working note there maybe device working which are not listed but its a start for you. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnLqAJT56SsbdGI2QWJYV1dodFpaWWk3QnkxLWNxN0E#gid=0So in summary this app is working if using the stock hboot and you hide your root using OTA before installing the apk and whilst using skygo. Can I take from this I can use a non custom rom if all the afore mentioned is in place and if this is the case then which roms will support by skygo.
Im not sure it does. You have to verify your id to be able to add additional users and i have been told by sky that as i inly have a skygo subscription and not an actual house installation then i cant verify my id. Seems its not available
Wifi only tablets seem to be coming up with "unknown error" when trying to view channels. I have a Archos 70 and Hannspree Hannspad both of which are doing this. Both allow me to sign in but will not let me view any channels Sky News or paid. Also people with Nook Color and Asus Transformer TF101 seem to have the same. So how is the app picking up on this?
Hi great work guys.
after downloading and installing the hacked sky go i no longer get the unsupported device message, i then choose a channel and it loads up to 100 percent then i get a streaming error (error:37) message. Anyone else having this problem?. Thanks again guys.
I also get the (error37) on my Orange Monte Carlo (ZTE SKATE) using all the skygo_test apks when trying to view Sky News.
Tried both apk 1.2 and 1.3 last night on an Acer A500 Iconia with unrooted Honeycomb 3.2 rom, still doesnt stream, just comes back with unknown error when trying to watch anything.
Can you please only post if you have something to add to the discussion, not a post saying how do i get this working on my rom.
To be helpful follow this guide:
1) Try this APK out if the one on the first post doesnt work (Also
thank gumbald for his hard work here while you are there):
