hey guys!! i have a SOLUTION for GPS!! ;) ;)
install "fasterfix" app from the market and select your region and touch "go".
a flash message will pop up in the lower half of the screen saying "Done,.........."
reboot the device and BAM youre done! ;)
you can uninstall the app then...you can rate it too ;)

Exactly one month back we received the Awesome Alfa 7 update ...Marc where r u ?? Eagerly waiting for the next release :D

you will have to wait... Alpha8 is on the go but i don't have time to work on it actually (familly, my own job etc..).

In addition, we (apollo5801, arakmar and me) were working on the cm7/cm9 ports on a dedicated server (24Go RAM, corei7 etc..) i was renting but i can't assume the cost anymore. So, we work now on our own computer and this will slow both projects.

My battery goes down in mV after reaching b/w 4180-4190 mV e.g after reaching 4188 mV it would revert back to 4135 mV and continue charging, when it again reaches b/w 4190-4180 it would revert again and it continues and never gets full charge/stop charging. It never stops so I want to ask is this same for all of you with CM7. If yes then how do you know battery is fully charged?

Please reply, thanks.

Hm, I don't face that problem exactly. But battery charging is also buggy for me. Sometimes when I charge the phone and I look at the battery after some time – it shows 100%, so I unplug and after few seconds it says it's not fully loaded: sometimes it says 65%, sometimes 87% it's always different. I feel like it shows 100% too early but it corrects the battery state right after being unplugged.

@Vinne- Can you also reply that you face none of my problem? I.e current stops after charging till 4200. What exactly happens? I need quick reply because that's the last reason before I go to buy new battery.

Your problem is because of kernel. It shows 100% early but it goes on charging. It's common known issue with CM7 kernel.

Thats how it goes, if your battery riches its max on charging(if its overcharged) it will drop.. just unplug on first drop, or better unplug before drop, at 4188. It shouldnt be a battery problem except if it lasts few hours.

Thats kernel problem i think. Just use spare parts.apk and watch battery volts. When its near to 4200, unplug. If you are not charging over night. Its better to unplug when finished than let it charg, as battery valuse is decreasing that way and it will last shorter after that charging.

Thanks but then how would I know which are the max mV because sometimes it can go up to 4188, 4190 or 4193. It can go down at any moment. It doesn't have any max mV.

Than unplug on 1st drop, or when you decide. You can say, i will unplug on 4190. And unplug than. Your choice. I am doing like that and had no problems.

Sounds like your APN settings haven't been entered. You might be on a less common carrier.

    Hello,

This thread is here to let you know how is the port of CyanogenMod 7 and to discuss about it.

Actually, the CM7 port is in alpha stage, until all the hardware is working. The ROM is very stable and can be used everyday, but you could miss some features that are not yet (fully) working like bluetooth.

    Main rules :
There is no ETA so, please, don't ask.

    What is working :
    - Android system 2.3.7 / CyanogenMod 7.2
    - SDcard is usable
    - 2D software renderer with correct aspect ratio
    - Mobile network connection (Fixed 06/02/2011)

    - Screenshot option menu (29/09/2011 - alpha6.1)
    - FM radio (27/10/2011 - alpha7)
    - USB mass storage (05/11/2011 - alpha7)

    @Everyone :

I have got many PM's regarding the state of this thread and i believe Marcel would have got more than me ......thats why i am sharing the Info.

Marcel have got the job he desired and currently have to move to CANADA......so it will probably take 1-2 Weeks.....

after that he should first get settled in there and should build up the development environment again.......

So till then i guess everyone should have patience.

Not 1-2 weeks but 3-4 months... but you know, it's not easy to immigrate in a new country so I'm very busy to prepare my family and myself for the move.

Thanks for your support and patience.

    Some news about Alpha9 :
    - Camera : you can now use a barcode reader or any app that requires camera. It should work.
    - Video recording is working with some restrictions : not using hardware codec but software. Audio is not recorded but may be fixed soon.
