Is it just me or did Sony remove the notification light for SMS messages?

Whenever I get a SMS, the light no longer blinks. When I go into the SMS settings page, I don't see an option to enable it (could have sworn it was there in 4.0.3).

Anyone else?

Edit: nevermind i got it, what that file means now ...

LOL! The poster was informing everyone that he was in the process of uploading the update.zip file, which is to be flashed using CWM.

can the 4.0.4 update for arc be rooted for locked bootloader?

@shantusingh,

I haven't updated to ICS myself so I can't answer that. But if you want flash a kernel, use flashtool or adb.

well ok, that's am img file we would need to install it being in fastboot probably..

it'll be like flash 4.0.4
then flash this img in fast boot (for cwm)
then flash RootExploitOneClick to get root

Edit: didn't worked for me as i have locked bootloader and dont want to unlock it, it would work for unlocked ones

or i guess they are they same

edit: yes they are the same as size is same, just different names!! i guess i got it how to root for now

no, you need to go back to 4.0.3, root it and than you some how keep the root with hot boot.

well i unlocked bootloader being in this 4.0.4, then even that boot562v2 ran successful in fastboot mode, i got root ..... but i wanted to relock bootloader, so as i relocked using its ftf with flashtools, and restarted my phone, i was stuck my phone didn't started... so i got back now to ics 4.0.3, not gonna play for now and will officialy update it

i believe for now its not working if u havn't unlocked bootloader weather its lt15i or lt18i

ok, can u provide step by step instruction how to root sony arc 4.04 unlocked bootloader? I create separate folder fastboot, put in there all the img possibles, run cmd command , boot the phone with menu key pressed and connecting to usb plus blue light, display waiting phone and no results. Tyred of keep trying various method.
Please do be so kind to inform me your sucessfully "how to".

its working trust m8 for lt15 arc anyway till some 1 tries with arc s i dont know

copy paste boot562v2.img file in fastboot folder run cmd and do as its shown in the video, just in last step type : flashboot flash boot boot562v2.img

u will have root access, then run Root_Exploit_OneClick"RunMe" batch file being in debugging mode n checked unknown sources to get su

ok i trust u as i dont have lt15i, but surely not working with lt18i(locked bootloader) as i tested it myself n after i unlocked bootloader then only it worked for me

ok m8 not to worry like i said in the name of the thread tho lt15i i dont own an arcs so couldnt try it thats why i asked if u were willin to try now we know it may not work for lt18i thank u for trying tho

my thinking if what if we get 4.0.4 update over the air for arc s , and like .42 to .62 we still had root if we root .42 first. So Maybe we still have root from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 if we could update it via wi-fi from phone . Else a normal way would come out soon for sure .

They removed it. No more blinking green light for SMS notification.

EDIT: I noticed that it is blinking when the screen is on. But not when the screen is off.
