The DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit v4.0 didn't work on my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Android 2.3.6 Kernel 2.6.35.7-N7000DXKL3-CL825081root@dell144# baseband N7000DXKL2

-Easy rooting toolkit (v4.0)

using exploit zergRush (Revolutionary Team)

(2) install Busybox (1.18.4)
(3) install SU files (binary: 3.0.3 and apk: 3.0.6)
(4) some checks for free space, tmp directory

(1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device
(2) enable "USB DEBUGGING"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications\Development)
(3) enable "UNKNOWN SOURCES"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications)
(4) [OPTIONAL] increase screen timeout to 10 minutes
(5) connect USB cable to PHONE and then connect to PC

Is there suppose to be a busybox icon in app drawer after rooting?
I get a message in command prompt: 11%: Bad Variable Name

Also, when I installed Titanium Backup, I got a message about Binary being non-optimal. I selected option for TiBu to fix automatically. Seems OK but not so sure.

My phone: Samsung Skyrocket 2.3.5

I was able to root the GPad GForce 2 (Gingerbread v2.3.3) via the toolkit. The toolkit didn't automatically push su and busybox to my tablet, but as those are available for download from Android Market it wasn't a big deal.

I've made a small donation to your coffee/beer account as a thank-you, DooMLoRD. Much appreciated!

anybody managed to root a Note with ?

I may be wrong but it appears that (as suggested) phones with 2.3.6 are failing to root.

Has anyone successfully rooted a previously unrooted Note running 2.3.6?

when I unzip version 4, zone alarm is giving me a "Exploit.Linux.Lotoor.ab" virus alert. Anyone else getting this? Is it expected?

It is 'helpfully' 'fixing' the 'problem' so I assume it will not work anyway until I shut ZA virus scanner off.

    hi guys i had posted this in Xperia forums but i was informed that it works well even on SGS2... so i am posting it here... may be it will be useful to all of u too :)


    just download the attached file, extract it using winzip/winrar

    go to the folder where its extracted and execute "RUNME.bat"

    read and follow the instructions on the screen!

[*] This script will:
      (1) root ur device using latest zergRush exploit (16 Nov)
      (2) install Busybox (1.18.4)
      (3) install SU files (binary: 3.0.3 and apk: 3.0.6)
  

[*] Before u begin:   
      (1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device
      (2) enable "USB DEBUGGING" 
            from (Menu\Settings\Applications\Development)
      (3) enable "UNKNOWN SOURCES"
            from (Menu\Settings\Applications)
      (4) [OPTIONAL] increase screen timeout to 10 minutes
      (5) connect USB cable to PHONE and then connect to PC

    So far tested for i9100G version

    Method 1 : DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit
     Download the toolkit first
    (http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1321582)
     Replace the "runme.bat" with this edited "runme.bat" (http://db.tt/H28lkghK)
     Tick USB debugging (settings->Applications->Development), if unticked before
     Tick Unknown sources (settings->Applications)
     Using windows task manager, "end task" ADB.exe and all KIES related software if running
     Connect phone using provided cable, ADB driver for the phone will be installed automatically assuming you have installed KIES first
     Double click the "runme.bat"

    Memory Crash Method
    If not succeed, please reboot it manually as it will not reboot automatically after the last unsuccessful script. Now add these extra steps :
     Same like above, do not run the script yet
     Now run applications from your phone, any applications will do, and close them with HOME button, not the BACK button
     Run as many applications as you can, check with "Task Manager", the RAM usages should be at least 500mb and above
     Now run the "runme.bat"
     Result : rooted (Superuser) only
