Guys, it's official now!!

Galaxy S2 HD released in Korea, a 1280x720 screen.

Use Chrome translator if you don't know Korean.. The first official HD resolution phone in the Galaxy - you see what I did there!

Game is on...

You forgot to mention LTE support on both phones
I guess we know what the Nexus Prime is going to be touting when it gets released

Surprisingly, HD version is slightly narrower than the regular version

Was hoping for a better SoC and it seems that Samsung is still stuck using pentile sub matrixes at that resolution so sharpness-wise it won't be much better than the SGS II.

Guess we'll see another iteration of this phone, aka Nexus Prime, come October 4th.

without having seen the screen i wouldn't make that statement. Also everyone that has seen the Galaxy Note has commented on how sharp the screen is and this is supporting the same res but in a much more compact screen size

While that is true, I have serious doubts concerning anything pentile after having used the Samsung Galaxy S.

Hmm could this new beast be carrying one of TI's newer 4470s with an SGX544?

96k pixels/inch (SAMOLED Galaxy S) vs 198k pixles/inch (SAMOLED HD Galaxy S2 HD)

It's a pretty substantial jump in pixel density

you don't need English to know what this means

quite clearly shows HD uses 1280x720 resolution instead of normal 800x480

in a related matter...

we all know what LTE and HSPA+ are

but what the heck is the new LGU+ (Revision A)?... found it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_U+

seems like a new highspeed technology not widely supported anywhere else but Korea, and it's just Revision A, so it's not even final

seems like a proprietary LTE by LG, that is not the regular LTE used elsewhere

The 25th U.S. investment bank Jefferies Resort Koh findings, LG Electronics, LTE patents around the world, out of total 1,400 stocks and 23 percent of its value ranging from 79 billion dollars was estimated. Forbes, "by unknown regarding patents and LG Electronics, LTE patents in the world has the most surprising," he was evaluated.

LG... Good!

"The screen merits a deeper examination, but here are the first impressions we got from it. First off, having a 5.3" SuperAMOLED is pretty cool. Graphics are smooth and you have to look close to see the PenTile matrix."

Still noticeable and the display appears to be dimmer than that of the SGS2.

Unlocked in korea its about $850. Im not sure if ilthe kotean HD LTE version has 850 band or the right Lte for at&t. The guy in the Samsung shop didn't think so. Would that mean it won't work 3g on AT&T?

By the way, a lovely looking device, if a little big. I wanted to see the Note but they don't have it here yet.
