[Q] Scratches/lines on power button?

I just got my HTC one m8 and noticed it has scratches/horizontal lines on the power button, it looks like it has a brushed texture on the power button and it's not fully glossy, is this normal? It's hard to explain, but when light hits the power button, there's horizontal lines that go across it.

Isn't there a tiny plastic sticker over the power button that you should peel off?

Mine has a small one, I think it's just the way that HTC packages the phones. I don't really notice it unless I am purposely looking for it.
