Could anyone simplify steps for those 3 partitions I've to make?

My sdcard is 8gb class 2 (unfortunatelly)..

tnx in advance

BIGBEAREVO your IMAGE not WORKING

OK Firstly try this..................>pm11img Download this and store on the root of your sd.
By that i mean don't change the file, don't open it or store it any file, just on the root of your sd.
This is accessible from HBOOT.
To access HBOOT, pull your battery out. reinsert battery and holding volume key down press power button.
It will now enter a new menu.
it will do a pm11img check, if it works it will update your hboot version and ask you to reboot. do it.
if this works you will have a pink *locked* appear right at the top
if this hasn't then we need to look into it more.
If this does work then we need you to install recovery.
You require 3 files >ADB Files
add this into a folder in your c:/ called Android. so it will look like c:/Android.
Unzip the file and 3 files appear.
This will help unlocking bootloader aswell.

Recovery
This program does the lot. backups restores wipes etc....everything...
To install this you need the 5.0.2.6 recovery file. >Recovery file at bottom
This post shows how to install recovery using adb cmds in cm prompt. there is a spelling mistake.
So here are the new lines.....you can copy the bold writing to cmd window to make it easier.
*Note, your phone needs to be plugged into your computer using charge option only*

line 1 is c:/Android/adb reboot bootloader

line 2 is c:/Android/fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Once this is done, you may choose the recovery selection in HBOOT to load recovery up.

For EXT3 Creation you require Minitool partition wizard > MiniTool 7.1
use this to resize your sd.
You must make a copy of your sd card on your computer....
if this works fine then nothing will happen to your sd....if you do this wrong it will wipe your sd!
Set a space of 1gb max for ext usage and make primary.
Don't use cwm to make partitions like the other phone...this works and will stay this way till something new appears.
Once this is created it may come back with bad disk.....don't panic it does that!
If all this has been done right, then your set.
If you get stuck im around so i will respond!

the above steps will allow you to have the basics setup and ready for custom roms!

Hey BIGBEAREVO,
I tried your PH11IMG.ZIP(http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?uma19r3pysr93dr).

But it was only detected and it didn't asked to update ?
Is there a problem with your image file ?

On a completely non related topic, will the cwm I flash here allow me to flash custom roms as well? to be precise, the one here,
http://goo-inside.me/devs/benjamingwynn

And @bigbearevo don't you think 472MB is just too darn large for a custom ROM. I mean cm7 barely crosses 100mb ever

lmfao.....no offense, this just shows how much you don't know about custom roms. bens rom to be precise is using aroma, a bigger installer, and is mutli compatible on other devices. Hence the huge size of this rom. when cm7 get released on this handset it won't be less then 100mb!
all cwm recovery will flash roms, but 5.0.2.6 is safest and most easiest way to do it

I was able to root the phone and also partition was also done..but at the end i somehow messed up and now i ended up with the onle htc screen flashing quitely brilliant...also i accidentally deleted the original ROM...please help me...

You need to state the following clearly. What rom, how did U make partition, how did u flash it. Basically the main stuff u used and what u did before. It went wrong.

Install rom first, boot the phone and wait for it to fully setup, then reboot to recovery and flash data2whatever. Done.

Wasn't me............ ;-)

think there is a problem with the last step. i flashed data2whatever, seems to have installed. i partitioned sdcard using minitool, 8gb card -> 1.5gb ext3 and rest extended fat32.

when i look at settings / storage -> it shows as Total space 7.6GB...

mine was s-on with boot loader 1.12.720.3 same as most indian htc salsa
download the file adb fastboot and adbwin from below and unzip to
    c:\android
    and ph11img.zip from this post
    http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=723431&d=1316354019

copy the ph11img.zip to ur memory card
boot into ur bootloader holding power and volume down..
let the phone search for the zip file and when it asks to update or not select yes and let it update..
now u have the boot loader supported by htcdev.com
nw remove the ph11img file from ur sdcard

goto bootloader again select fastboot thn connect ur phone to pc
    goto http://htcdev.com/bootloader/
select ur device as htc salsa
follow the steps directly from step 7
and if u do it correctly ull have a new tab in the hboot saying unlocked...

but it wld still indicate s-on
don worry u can nw easly have root acess nw

be sure to use the fastboot given by me

now first u need to get cmw recovery 5

follow this post to download recovery.rar
unrar it to android dir in c to get recovery.img

    http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=852074&d=1326296914

while ur phone is in fast boot type the command fasboot flash recovery recovery.img

now voila u got cmw5 recovery
to check pop the battery out again goto hboot
select recovery and a new screen will come with the new cmw5

paste root.zip to ur sd card which ull download from

    http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=723432&d=1316354019

now in recovery select install from zip and select root.zip and select yes
    now u have root acess

ull c a app called super user in ur phone

nw to increase ur internal size

go into cmw5 recovery goto advance then select to partition ur mrmy card
    u must create 2 partitions
    1) fat32
    2)ext3

the size depends on your requirements
    once dis is done

go to cwm recovery again, wipe data, cache and dakvik cache. Reboot.

Install busybox, and choose the version v1.17.1

now go to cwm recovery again.

    flash htc-data2sd sdcard
    reboot
and vooila u have increased ur internal memory space

    Reboot

hi sorry if im asking a stupid question but im new to this, I followed your instructions and at the end i still see 120mb for internal storage. my sd card is 16gb and now shows 10gb. is the increased internal memory suposed to show or not? also when installing the busybox it said "instalation aborted" at then end, is it doing what its supoed to? if im doing something wrong could you please tell me how to increase the internal space I would greatly appreciate it. thanks for your great work :)

you just had a total failure on the data2sd side.
plz list up the following so we can help more

    1-which rom are you using?
2-what ext partition have you setup
3-how big is the ext partition
4-how did you make the ext partition
    1
Do u have recovery installed...if not...then we need to get it installed and get you flashing a new rom again.
Best option is.....somewhere in here is recovery 5.0.2.6 with instructions to flash via adb cmds.
Do this according to post, trust it will work!
Once that's installed go get either iconic or sense 3.5. Flash either of these and presto .....working phone again.
Takes a few mins to flash recovery and upto ten minutes for a custom rom.

Thanks BigBearEvo your a legend, I flashed sense 3.5 just like you said, and it worked like a charm. ,,and if anybody knows of any roms i could download that would make the salsa have the same effect as the upgraded htc desire hd ( the spining of the home pages after you pull the ring up) please do post the link.
    Thanks again for your help.
