Hi,

NOOB here.

Had my phone 'unlocked' so that I could use it abroad.

Have GT-N7100 on O2UK.

I don't know what ROM was used to modify the handset, but I had SuperSu app installed.

When I came back to the UK, I wanted to return the handset to Stock.

I did a full unroot through SuperSU was on Android 4.1.1.

Since that full unroot, I now have no mobile signal for Calls/text/3G.

In settings, selected O2UK, so the handset id receiving signal, but then on attempting to make a call says 'Not registered on network', SIM works in a different handset, have tried a different operators SIM in the note 2.

I don't know what rom/mod was used to 'unlock' the handset so am having difficulty trying to know what to flash etc.
I have flashed back to Stock through Kies.

Custom Binary Download: Yes (1 Counts)
Custom Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Knox warranty Void: 1
RP SWREV: A2

Network - O2 - UK
Signal Strength -
Mobile Network Type - HSDPA
Service State - Out of Service
Mobile Network State - Disconnected
My Phone Number - Unknown
IMEI - Correct
Serial No - WRONG
Device Status - Official

Android Version - 4.3
Baseband Version - XXUEMJ9
Build Version - XXUEMK9
SE for Android Status - Enforcing - SEPF_GT-N7100_4.3_0010

What can I do to amend the Serial Number so that it matches the handset?
How can I get the mobile signal to work?
Downloaded SuperSU, but says the phone isn't rooted.
Am happy working with ODIN.
Not sure where to go from here?
All help appreciated.

Thanks.

If your IMEI is correct just try it by resetting your phone in settings menu, 'Settings >> Backup & Reset'.

Note: Backup all internal storage's data before reset.

Hi,

Thanks for trying to help.

Have tried it a couple of times.

Still get same result.

Have also tried wiping the data cache as well.

No different

Corrected link if above won't work

That file have your official firmware, you've to extract it by WinRAR or Winzip you'll found onl file as '.tar.md5' extension and another with '.dll'. You've to select '.ter.md5' file with 'Open file' under Mobile Odin Pro, for suitable operation place or extract this file on ExternelSD.

Rooted phone, downloaded official stock rom from kies. Still no different. Binary count is now at 2 instead of 1. Might just send it off to Samsung and hope they'll fix it under warranty.

You can't reset the knox counter if you've knox enabled bootloader, only thing you can do is reset binary counter using 'Triangle Away' (But not knox) knox always flag as '1' instead of '0x1'.

Triangle away didnt work using cf-autoroot and supersu.
By using cfautoroot it increased from 1 to2.
Hesitant to try it agIn incase it goes up to 3.

After the / ? Ok i think your efs partition is ok.Now go to tour recovery and backup your efs partition to ext sd . Do a full wipe on cache/data/dalvik/system.
Go to sammobile and download the official rom from there and flash it via ODIN 3.7 (i didnt have problems flashing with this version)
After you flash it all need to be ok with the radios.

So after googling the serial number my phone thinks it is, it appears that the phone was unlockec with an octoplus box?

As the serial number appears in several threads for not reg'd on network.

What is now the best solution to the problem?
Find a shop with an octoplus box to restore my original serial number and reflash official firmware?
The rogue serial number is R31C80HWG1F
How likely is it that the Samsung service centre will repair this?

I think they can but for a good amount of $
Better search the forum how to restore the serial or take it into service.

Flash your official firmware by downloading it from sampro.pl or sammobile.com, flash it with PC Odin under PDA tab.
After you done, don't let reboot your phone, goto recovery by pressing vol up+ menu key then power key(continuously hold it until your restarts might be 4~8 secs.) Then check 'Wipe Cache Partition', and then reboot phone.
