Damned !

I got a bad intermittent 3G signal.

So i would reflash and I lost the recovery menu by doing a simple wipe (factory + cache +davlik)

Go bootloop, no way to get back to recovery menu :(

Im re-doing all the procedure :

- flash stock JVT
- flash recovery kernel
- flash cm7 twice
- Clean Cache and Dalvik Cache and do Factory reset
- flash FuguModICS_GT-I9000_update.zip
- Go to Recovery
- Clean Cache and Dalvik Cache and do Factory reset
- flash ICS_4.0.3_r1-RC1-i9000-reupload.zip
- flash Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip
- flash FuguModICS_GT-I9000_update.zip again
- Reboot

Am I right ?

Omg what a mess...
Just flash a stock JVS/JVT etc cleaning everything inside with a factory reset, than flash root cwm jvs/jvt etc, flash rc1(the all in one zip) do the wipe known(wipe all/factory reset-wipe cache partition-wipe dalvik) than reflash rc1 and enjoy

I did this operation 1 hour ago and now i've all my back up apps 252 restored with sms mms etc everything is amazed

RC1 realy rocks !!!

Just 2 questions :

- is there any alternative kernel working on it ?
- is there a battery icons MOD ?

try perka's mod for teamhacksung, need to copy them manually to corresponding directories OR adb the files. they work just fine.

BUMP 2, Anyone! lol?

does screen rotation work for you?

try this launcher from nexus s development. it works way better than trebuchet nor the original ics launcher.

hope they help ...

As i said, i tried with teamhacksung build10, and my media files in emmc were not scanned...

Not a bad idea, i tried with ln -s in terminal but it said be operation not allowed.
I will try all of this when i come back home.

I know how to solve your really annoying and bad problem.
In your external sd card you should find two folders : .androidsecure & .LOSTDIR. Delete them and reboot and wait your GS read your card with no problems...(i had this issue too)

Phone won't start up (hangs on splash logo - bootloop) but I somehow can't get into recovery mode.
Any ideas?

Care to post some comments on the change? Is it as smooth as MintBerry? Are you satisfied with the change?

I'm contemplating doing this myself.

Thanks.
The phone is fast and smooth, no doubt about it.

I managed to restore all my apps with Titanium Backup without problems.

However I did find some (minor) drawbacks:
  • As stated before auto brightness kinda sucks
  • No power options in drop-down notification bar
  • Launcher doesn't work with scrollable widgets
  • My Touchdown Exchange and Whatsapp contacts show up twice in the contacts app (i.e. they are no longer recognized as the same contact)
  • My mobile banking app (ING Bank Netherlands) no longer works. This is a known issue with ICS which they are working on I believe
  • Pure Calendar widget doesn't work (I have an old version, probably need to upgrade)
  • Video player doesn't play a simple DivX encoded AVI file
  • Instant Heart Rate app (free version) gives an error that it can't access the camera
  • Gallery app shows pictures within a folder from new to old (haven't found a sorting option yet?)
  • Text prediction doesn't work with the standard keyboard

T9

First of all - excellent ROM. ICS feels right at home!
A small question/request - is there a chance to get a T9 dialer integrated into this (from teamhacksung code).
I am talking about this one: T9 Dialing by devatwork (Enable in Dialer Setting) https://github.com/Danesh

10x again

I'm on Telus, and under "select operator" I can't seem to get it to say TELUS, only a bunch of numbers. And when I'm registered on the network, the numbers stay on the bottom of the pulldown screen and the lockscreen. Is there a way around this?? It worked on all the Betas, is there a file i can take from the previous builds and replace this one??

I think there's something wrong with the browser. Some sites are rendering really slowly when compared to Gingerbread. The same problem exists with TeamHacksung's port. One good example is a Finnish news site iltalehti.fi, works really smoothly with gingerbread but very slow on ICS.

NOTICE: We apologize for the lack of updates recently, we just want to make it clear that development has under NO circumstances stopped. We are absolutely still working on this and still supporting it. Thank you for your patience.

    Team ICSSGS

This ROM is based directly on the source code straight from Google themselves, the way Android is meant to be. This ROM is produced by a collaboration of many different people, with the main development being done by Onecosmic himself. We strive to bring releases as often as possible and provide a stable AOSP ROM. As this is a work in progress, bugs are to be expected! Please check the known issue's before posting/reporting bugs.

Source code can be found here

If you can, please donate a small amount via paypal, we do this for fun and this is optional but it is greatly appreciated and it is a way for you to contribute. If you want us to support another Galaxy S type phone and you have an extra of it, we may consider supporting the phone if you donated it to us to work on. If you think you have a phone that we could support, PM me or any other Team ICSSGS members and we will discuss the possibility of us supporting it.

We do not support anything that is not produced by us!

Ok, work sucks, life not but takes time and so on...

Here i am after getting a couple of minutes to post :)

Lets start with a couple of things:

Battery issues: If you don't complete 2 full charge cycles (discharge to 0 and charge to 100% 2 times) please do not complain about battery life, all android versions needs this in order to calibrate battery comsumption, this is mandatory.

Brightness: I know is darker and have steps not working, i'll fix that, not sure if with an update or in the full release (again, lack of time)

Wifi tether: does not work yet, its a mater of time.

USB tether, worked for me all day today, no mayor issues. anyhow i'll try to check with other users to see what happens.

Voodoo color kernel: it was compiled due to request from several users, i dont like it and i dont have time to check why the gamma tables get screwed, you can adjust them using voodoo control apk. :)

T9 on dialer: wip, again, not sure if update or next release.

Dictionary, there is a update that someone put on the thread, please take a look, it works without issues.

TV Out: i'll get a cable today to test, i dont have one until now so i was not able to test it :)

Media Scanning: i'll check on that (slowness, memory consumption and duplicate names).

Besides of the things above, i have a i9000b phone (almost the same as i9000, minor differences) its complicate to diagnose problems in vibrant or captivate without having the device, so far i know that gps does not work on cappy i'll try to o my best, but again, without having the devices is difficult to test everything.

    Cheers!
