I have a T889 that retains the 4.1.2 bootloader.

Using Mobile Odin, I flashed the stock (from sammobile) 4.3 rom (T889UVUCMK7_T889TMBCMK7_T889UVUCMK7_HOME.tar.md5).

I then flashed the WIFI Patch as shown in various forums.

The phone is now at 4.3 (T889UVUCMK7), with the 4.1.2 bootloader (T889UVBMD1) as expected.

However, the phone shows the Custom Binary Download set to "Yes (1 counts)", and the Current Binary set to "Custom". The System Status still shows "Official".

Triangle Away sets it all back to No, Official, Official, but it doesn't "stick".

My question...

Is this to be expected, since I'm still on the 4.1.2 bootloader? I'm assuming the system scans and detects a non-standard kernel, thus flagging it as custom.

I don't want to flash to the 4.3 bootloader (I want to stay knox free).

BTW, I had Mobile Odin inject SuperSU.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Thanks.

it could be caused by keeping a non stock recovery flashed.... try flashing a stock recovery & check to see

Might have something to do with your SELinux state. Is it set to permissive or enforcing? SELinux causes all kinds of wacky behavior with root and certain status changes between boots.
