Do you even understand what I'm talking about?
I'm not talking about data connection, I'm talking about network mode... If for example I leave it on 2G/3G auto mode while I'm out, when I return home and I turn on WiFi, the phone's data connection gets disabled but still tries to stay on the 3G network on which it usually has less reception and draws more power doing so.
Network mode switching used to work on stock roms, here it's clearly a bug.

Chrome not working

Chrome not working for me.

"A critical function, necessary to execute chrome, is missing. Chrome instalation might be incomplete or not compatible with this version of android"

Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

Really want to try this amazing browser!

Try unistalling Chrome, flashing latest gapps (not the outdated ones from ROM Manager), maybe do some light wipes and finally reinstall Chrome.

Upgraded from RC0 to Nightly 27 Apr 2012. Not getting any GPS signal. Anyone with tips. I tried a full wipe, but no joy. Using GPS essentials those most satellites it has shown is 2. Wasn't a problem on RC0 :confused:

Any tips greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know if the nightlies are supposed to be available on Rom Manager? I can't see them on my i9000 running the April 27 nightly

CM9 Nightly (April 27)

Ran into troubles with April 27 nightly all of sudden. It worked fine for two days, I might have rebooted many a times, many recharge cycles, everything fine until last night. Wokeup with Data not working, restarted and got stuck on Boot Animation. Cleared Dalvic first, no avail, then cleared cache, no avail, then reflashed nightly, no avail even then. Then downloaded new nightly (April 29) + Google Apps and then did a factory reset before installing the same. Only that did the trick.

Later on been into troubles as I restored apps via Titanium with data. So, wiped data on each app to restore them as normal.

Any idea, what might have gone wrong? And if I should follow some other steps than above if face similar issues again?

A minor graphical issue.. Don't know where to report it..

When downloading a file, into "downloads" app the size of the file and the time of the download overlap each other..

See screenshot attached..

    Installation

    - First time flashing ICS to your Galaxy S (or coming from another ROM)?
    1. Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
    2. Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
    3. Do a Nandroid backup!
    4. WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
    5. Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
    6. Optionally install the Google Addon
    7. WIPE again or Calendar Sync will not work.
    - Upgrading from CM7?
    1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
    2. WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
    3. Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
    4. Optionally install the Google Addon
    - Upgrading from another CM9 (or teamhacksung) Build?

    Reporting Bugs

    You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.

    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)

    You'll have the option to use your microSD card as /sdcard in Settings -> Storage -> Menu -> Storage configuration. Android by default (as HTC started it) uses the microSD card as /sdcard and internal memory as /emmc. Samsung came along and uses internal memory as /sdcard and microSD as /sdcard/external_sd. We need to standardize in CyanogenMod, so starting with this nightly, we follow the standard HTC has set, but we also give users the option to swap them if they want. When it comes to Samsung devices, users expect internal SD as /sdcard by default, to the setting is set to swapped as default.

    TL;DR: Nothing changes.

    The nightlies are designed to be used with the kernels that come with it only. The default preference to swap is stored in the ramdisk in the kernel which is lost if you switch kernel (and so internal SD mounts as /emmc).
