just leave those blank, don't touch them and it should work.

I wonder why NFSFAN set a static DNS for the 6.5 rom? Was it to protect from Bell seeing what we do related to tethering?

I am using the NSFan 6.1 BELL ROM and he had the DNS set to OPENDNS, since it is a very good DNS service. I still do not see why using the DNS settings do no longer work??? Anyone know the reason??? I tried using Google's 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 and it doesn't work either, only if you set it to "Use server-assigned addresses". But it works which is good.

Yes, my self serve does not work any more too.

They may restrict dns traffic to their own network/servers. Dns stats are valuable info!

Tether your pc to your phone and try an nslookup. :p

Does anybody have the USCC provisioning cab or a link to it? I can't track that thing down and my girlfriends Vogue has no data. I plan on flashing this rom back to her phone tonight, but she needs her data working and we can't make it to USCC. Blizzard hitting Chicago. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with all 3 of my phones. I loaded the bell cab files and can now get on the internet and email again, but strangely enough I still can’t tether. I also use NFSFAN's WM6.5 V1.00 ROM.

I have also had the same issue with Bell using NFSFAN's ROM since yesterday. Spent the last couple of hours on the phone with tier 3 tech. Flashed back to the stock ROM and it works, flashed back to NFSFAN's and it doesn't (internet and email). I have never used tethering so I can not comment on that. Knarly, are you able to get internet and email with NFSFAN's Rom with a bell cab file? If so, where did you get the Bell cabs? Thanks.

Guys, I found the solution. When you flash with the NFSFAN ROM, delete the default DNS server in one of the internet connection settings and make it server specific/specified. :)

Oops, Bibbabedouba already posted the walkthrough below.

Hey all!

THIS MAY BE THE SOLUTION for those who are experiencing Internet connectivity problems since a couple of days with Bell (NFSFAN ROM).

YOU MAY NOT NEED TO REFLASH YOUR DEVICE or reinstall any Radio Versions or whatever.

JUST TRY THIS FIRST :
1. Go to Settings, Connections and click on Connections Icon
2. Click on "Manage existing connections"
3. Click on Edit... for the Bell Mobility connection
4. Click Next, Next and then Advanced button
5. Go to the "Servers" tab
6. Change this option : put it to "Use server-assigned addresses"
(You can note on a paper your DNS and Alt DNS numbers in case, cause it will be deleted after).
7. click ok. Click Finish.
8. Try to connect.
9. Surf the Internet !!!
10. Take a beer after so much energy finding this problem....

Hope it will do the job for you!!

Thanks for sharing the solution and the thorough walkthrough. I did just that a few days ago but wasn't able to post the solution on this thread as I was too caught up with work, left the office around 11:30pm yesterday.

I just put any username and password and that pop up screen went away.

:)

So Jackville, you changed DNS settings with what was suggested above and you can no longer theter? Is that correct?

Anyone can suggest a way to theter with Bell with NFSFAN rom?

Bluetooth still seems to work guys. I get frequent disconnects when using the USB cable to tether. Not sure if it's just one my HTC or if Bell somehow blocked that USB tethering.

The self serve .cab is working again on the Touch. I went to top up yesterday and the BELL site stated they were busy doing upgrades on the self serve section. Now it works again, yippie!

Also, no problem tethering with USB...the odd disconnect but that has always been the case for me.

That's good to know about the USB tethering. :)

Hi,
I tried to change the DNS but didn't work for me for the tethering!
A network log on opens and asking for a usename, password and domain!
I had to reinstall the carrier cab.
Internet is working but not the tethering.

Dns or server specific? Which one and why?

What I understand is that it's possible to theter through Bluetooth at least!
Is there any advantages or reasons to use a specific DNS address or use server specific? Anyone can clarify this?

hey everyone, I just flashed my phone to this rom and have trouble getting on the Internet

I think its not setup correctly. I have regular Sprint so it should work, I've managed to configure calls and text correctly though.

Any advice? Thanks

got it solved. I had to install the 6.1 version and set up Internet then flash to 6.5

One more question though, how do I get the home screen to look like this:

You have to enable Touchflo (aka. manila, sense etc)

start > settings > home > swipe to items > check TouchFlo > select ok

What Connections do you delete?

I flashed this ROM and love it, but I can't figure out what connections to delete. I've gone into connections and just don't know what to delete. I am relatively new to this stuff and would greatly appreciate any help here. I am referring to the section on getting the Verizon MMS cab to work with the ROM.

RECOMMENDED: GPS Radio (3.42.50) for Bell users

Precaution: Do not backup anything from previous ROM versions.
Only backup contacts, appointments, emails and text messages.

    Always flash from bootloader mode!!!
    Always Hard-Reset after ROM flash!!!
Always let customizations run on my ROMs!!!

    CRITICAL:

    1. You have the choice of which dialer to install.
This is very important!! You must install a dialer from one of the
supplied cabs!! You have 2 choices CDMA or GSM.
Click Here to visit the dialer post I made :)

    2. For GPS to work with different carriers than Bell install
one of the cabs in the attachment below, that matches your carrier.

    3. For the weather to show up on the Manila2D homescreen
you have to install the CDMA Home Weather Fix.cab
found in the attachments at the end of this post. However, make
sure that you ONLY install the cab after you setup the city in the
weather tab of M2D, or else M2D will not launch.

    4. To add custom cities for the weather tab on M2D, go to Start,
Settings, System, and tap on Manila2D Weather Cities Editor.

Pics are blurry...unless I use the "sports" option

Anyone else noticed that since around V14 or so, that the pictures that are taken with the default camera option (has the camera icon in top left corner) always end up blurry, regardless of lighting? I've got around it by using the "sports" option (has the running person icon in the top left corner)...unfortunately, I have to take 3pics at a minimum; but with this setting, they are clear. I know that the first thought is that my hands are shakey...but it never happened on earlier ROM versions, even back to the 6.1 versions. Thoughts? Am I the only one?
