Regardless of whether or not that fixes it, you shouldn't have to do that. You don't have to delete all my tweaks to run the stock kernel so you shouldn't have to delete them to run another kernel either. If you blow away all my work and then claim that fixes your boot loops, that's the equivalent of going to the doctor with excruciating pain every time you lift your right arm over your head, and the doctors fix is: "stop lifting your right arm over your head". Well that's not really a solution. Sometimes we need to lift our right arm over our heads. I'm confident that the kernel devs will eventually figure out the problem with the kernels which cause these problems. Then you won't have to delete perfectly valid code to get them to work.
On beats, I think it's funny how some people think they can hear the difference in a 96khz sample rate. Truth is, 98% of people couldn't hear the difference between beats on a beats kernel versus beats on a non beats kernel. The thing that gives beats it's characteristic sound is mostly in the tonality (EQ settings), and that's built into the ROM. Sound drivers? Yeah, they can make a difference, but would you notice? I mean would you notice if not for the hiss and extra volume?
Remember, of all the people who have been flashing beats onto a 2.17 ROM so far, a few notice too much background hiss due to inappropriate gain settings more than anything else. My point is, people worry about sample rates and perfectly matched sound drivers, yet the stuff that's out there didn't even correctly set the gain on the D/A converters and quiet passages sound like your sitting on the beach... and only a few people notice. I've listened to beats on all three kernels and the main difference is sound level. If you take the time to listen at the same volume, the kernel makes very little audible difference. And as we've seen with the gain/hiss issue, it's not always best to take (even superior) sound drivers from another device and dump them on the Evo 3D. That's how we got those ridiculous gain levels that caused the hiss to begin with. Sometimes one size does bit fit all.
