The dock is actually easier. The part I found hard was the small parts of the tablet skin on the side/top/bottom kept wanting to peel themselves back and it took a lot of holding it in place while drying. The dock I would only use a small amount of the fluid on the main piece and just stick on all the small pieces, it's easy and nothing wants to peel itself back.

I don't plan on using the screen protector, don't like the feel of it and I prefer anti-glare. I used a similar one on my Xoom and it took almost a week for the streaks to clear and even then it didn't look very good. I also read another review that said the screen protector will stick to the skin on the dock and cause bubbles to form. The anti-glare screen protector I use isn't sticky at all and I don't have this issue (Poetic anti-glare screen protectors - 3 pack, $14.95 on Amazon)

Will give covering the dock a try sometime tomorrow. As for the screen protector, I am not a fan of anti-glare ones. They make the screen look grainy and degrades picture quality (atleast that's what I experienced when I used them on Prime). Is that still the case?

It is a bit grainy looking, but I use this tablet outside a lot and it also makes any fingerprints much much less noticeable.

I have been using clear full body Skinomi Techskin on my iPhone 4S I bought as soon as it became available.

It is a great skin, and it definitely helps against drops (although you should go for a case if dropping is your main concern). The screen will less likely be damaged because even though it does not absorb shock it does strengthen the glass by a bit. And with this, you know that there will be no scratches.

One downside of it is that the adhesive is a bit weaker than some other films I've used. It starts to feel after a few months of use. You can, however, request lifetime warranty replacement for $2.95 (shipping charge) using a fax. They send the replacement very quickly, and I've done this twice so far.

Any bubbles that form under the film will disappear within a few days. Liquid bubbles disappear more quickly, so using a lot of liquid is fine as long as it does not damage the device. Unless there is a huge bubble, you don't need to try to hard to get rid of them.

So I finally finished installing the brushed steel skin. I love the quality and fitment. There are some small pieces what could have been a little bigger to cover some for keyboard parts but overall its awesome. I also like the texture which makes it feel like it is actual brushed steel.

One suggestion for people who are planning to do this install, when installing pieces on the corners or smaller pieces, use hair drier on low setting to warm up the skin and the are and it will help a lot in skin sticking correctly.

P.S: Attached are some pics of T700 and the dock (TF201 dock).

Looks like a great product but my infinity has gotten heat issues a bunch of time before even with the aluminum backing. I'm afraid if I get this, the heat issues will get worse.

I'm not having any heat issues with mine, you may have a problem with yours... I wouldn't worry about the skin making any heat worse though.

Which set did you order ?

Is it the combination of these 2 :

http://www.skinomi.com/sk10198-asus...yboard-dock-brushed-steel-skin-protector.html

Can you also take the pics of the screen protector and comment on the quality screen? Does it degrade the quality?

Does the back of the tablet protector cover the part which goes into the dock?

Skinomi Review

I also received the Black Carbon Fiber skin and clear screen protector from Skinomi. Overall, I like it, but I feel that the fit of the carbon fiber skin is not 100% accurate. Namely, if you line up the skin perfectly with the Asus logo, it still seems to cover up a row of speaker holes. Also, the edge pieces do not adhere properly on one side due to being a little too short. Some of the corner pieces are a little flimsy and not a perfect fit either. These are minor issues for me, especially since I got the skin for free as a replacement for the skin I had on my TF201. I may consider asking Skinomi for a replacement back, but I'm not sure.

The screen protector takes a few days to dry, which usually eliminates any remaining bubbles or imperfections, and I'm pleased to note that Skinomi has changed their bubble eliminating card from a hard plastic card that would scratch the skin to a silicone wedge card that seems to be more effective.

I use the Skinomi skin and a neoprene case for the tablet, a setup which I am comfortable with in general. I am considering getting a Pelican style waterproof case for hardcore travel, but I don't feel that's necessary at this time.

Got skinomi skin today. Tried to apply. Utter crap. Possibly the most stupid thing i have ever bought on the internet. I tell myself many times "don't buy stupid things, don't buy stupid things...". Well, I still do that now and than.

I think the skin is impossible to apply perfectly on the tablets, maybe for the phones as the surface is much smaller - but this, this is completely insane. I lost my nerves doing it. Really, i think this is the biggest crap i have ever hoped could solve my problems. It doesn't.

It is not perfectly cut, it is very hard to apply...thanks for the solution skinomi, but **** you, too, to not mention it is so hard to apply it.
I already know there will be smart people replying to my post - like how easy it was for them and that i am doing something wrong. I tell you right away - i did it correctly and it is crap. Just crap. and no, it is not easy.

30€ out the window. Again :)

I had pretty much the same experience... one side hangs over just a small amount, so now one row of the speaker holes is almost covered, and there is now an irritating sharp edge felt when that side of the tablet is held.

The carbon pattern is really a texture in the vinyl, and it kinda looks cheap. It may come off looking like carbon fiber from a distance, but it doesn't do justice to the cool look of real carbon fiber.

Also, this skin makes going into the dock a little harder as the fit is tighter. The screen protector also gets a deep imprint of the carbon pattern just above the middle of the screen from the piece of carbon vinyl just above the touch pad on the dock. There is also a deep imprint from the part of the dock connector that touches the front of the tablet as well. Because of these problems I ended up removing the carbon vinyl from around the palm rest and touchpad, and also completely removing the Skinomi screen protector, and using another type.

Overall, I would say I am only 50% pleased with the results... I may eventually just remove the skin once I get tired of the cheapness of it... I don't feel like I got my money's worth with this product.

Yes, that the combination that I ordered. Quality of the screen protector is not as bad as I initially thought and it has completely cleared but if I was to buy just the screen protector, Skinomi won't be be my first choice.

Yes, the protector covers all the parts that go in the dock as well and because of that it makes it look like it was designed that way and look awesome. One word of advise though, I took out the tablet from the dock for the first time after installing the skin and something in the dock chipped small part of the skin. They are very small spots but they look bad none the less. Also, with the skin and screen protector installed, its a very tight fit. (Btw, I am using Tf201 dock)

If I had paid full price for the Skinomi product, I would definitely ask them to send a replacement. However, Skinomi customer service has been very good to me, and I would suggest anyone with issues to ask them for a replacement or a refund. I would be surprised if they did not do whatever is necessary to improve the situation.

This my favorite solution at the moment, given how bulky most cases are, but my fit is already pretty tight, such that I have to manually engage the lock. I'm not sure there's room for even a tiny bit more thickness.

Worked out good...I'm pretty happy right now.
Skin lays over the ding pretty well

The fit seems very good...hope it stays this way.

The use of a heat gun for this is imperative.
I did spray the back of the tablet with a little solution.
The solution made the skin much easier to pull up (and you will have to pull it off at least twice)
Took 3 tries to get things aligned.
I warmed the skin a bit hotter than recommended so I could thumb the corners where I wanted.

Thought for sure I'd be throwing this in the trash :D
Took about an hour with good prep.

I recommend skinning if you have a small amount of patience and a good heat gun

*I didn't use the screen protector
No dock either, so I have no input there.

how is feel of woodgrain ?

I'm curious how the tablet handles with the skin on compared to the smooth finish of the tablet itself. The aluminum case feels very slippery to me, and I'm always afraid I'll drop it.

How does the skinomi skin feel? Still slipperty? More "grippy"?

Mmmm...
The skin makes the back somewhat better to hold on to.
Not a slick surface I would say.

Yer wood grain skin is not soft or rubbery.
I believe a lot of folks get the carbon fiber for it's design and because it may provide more grip.

Got my Skinomi skins today and after applying I have to say I'm impressed. I was eager to see if it would fit in the dock with it on too, and it does. It's just a little tight but it does fit fine.

When the skin arrives it comes shipped in a tube, since it's rolled up in the tube the ends of the skin want to peel up. If it was rolled the other way it would of been much better. After learning from the tablet skin I re-rolled the dock skin the other way and put it back in the tube for 30 minutes or so and that helped.

My advice when putting the skin on is to only use the application fluid on the large main skin parts (top for the tab and bottom for the dock), and be sure NOT to get any fluid on the small edging/side parts of the skin. Once the main back part is on, bubble free and aligned it will be easy to stick down the sides if there's no fluid on them. In my case I put the fluid all over and the smaller side parts kept peeling themselves up and it took a lot of holding down till they were stuck (the whole process took me about an hour for the tablet).

Lesson learned, on the dock skin I only used a small amount of fluid on the main bottom part and none on the little parts and it was a much faster process. Using a hair dryer will aide in the drying time and also makes the skin more malleable so it doesn't want to peel itself back.

The tablet skin comes with a clear screen protector that I'm not using. I use an anti-glare screen protector (3 pack available on Amazon for $14.95) and I like this set up a lot. A few other reviews for this skin said because the clear screen protector is a bit sticky when you close the tab the screen sticks to the skin on the dock and it cause bubbles in the screen. With the very non-sticky screen protector I have, this isn't an issue.

All-in-all I'm impressed with the skin. It's a very tough vinyl, has a great texture to it (actually feels like carbon fiber and makes for a nice feel in the hand) and provides good coverage on almost all of the tablet and dock.

The only down side is the set up (especially if you use a different screen protector) is a little pricy... But, if you want to protect your tablet and dock while making the setup look bad @ss this is the way to go!!

UPDATE: A small part of the corner of the skin (a very thin strip that covers the corner on the top of the tablet) came off, was torn by the case. I contacted Skinomi as the skin has a lifetime warranty and they're sending me a whole new skin for free. Prompt customer service too. Good company...

Got a brushed steel AND carbon fiber for the tablet only for only 17 bucks :D had a 70% off coupon and worked well. Currently using brushed steel on the dock and carbon fiber on the tablet, because carbon fiber seems to bee less likely to show if there's a scratch =P
All fits well even with screen protector installed.
