Updating to UVDLJC results in a much worse battery for me. 20-25% less per day compared to UVDLJA.

I flashed root66's stock UVDLJC with root and noticed the battery was worse with Android OS using a much larger percentage. I went back to root66's stock UVDLJA with root and the battery was back to normal. Yesterday I got the update nag for UVDLJC and to test I let it update. Sure enough, battery is back down 20-25%.

Anyone else having such issues? Is there a cache that needs wiping? I haven't noticed much increase in signal strength or speed, so the new radio only has downside for me.

I saw a huge battery drain from IP service process. I disabled WiFi calling and its back to normal battery usage. Something in this update with WiFi calling enabled is draining the battery.

I can also confirm that T999UVDLJC drains battery much faster on Wi-Fi. Regular network (4G) is fine but as soon as I connect Wi-Fi, forget it. Did not have this problem with previous modem.

Can confirm battery drain also. Really getting pissed off. Love this phone. Slowly making me regret selling my nexus. Anyone having wifi issues. My wifi seems "slow". By slow I mean compared to my wifes mytouch 4g shes had for 3 years now, she canb load browser pages and yputube videos faster. I get partial loads then it fets stuck. Ugh. I thought it was my router at home but evenbhere at work its still slow.

I always leave WiFi on and let JuiceDefender turn it off when it isn't in use. I turned off WiFi for a few days and the battery life was close to the old radio.

Can't say I have any issues when WiFi is turned on. No benefits from the battery draining radio either.

So i tried flashing thru twrp and got "cannot flash", so I wiped delviic, fixed perms, booted then rebooted back into twrp and same results? Now with this particular modem file I just need to flash the zip in yrcovery, correct? I just flashed "slim stock rom 4.1.1" and the modem available in that thread is done via terminal emulator and I'm a noob with NO computer skills but im pretty comfortable with a custom recovery.. Thx for the help..

Woke up in middle of the night, saw this waiting for me. Had synced via Kies about 6 hours earlier and it wasn't there. Haven't noticed any differences in very brief use, and I am going back to sleep. Sammobile has it up now as well.

    EDIT:

T-Mobile now has a post up about the update here: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-4446

    Understanding the Update
Beginning January 31, the Samsung Galaxy S III will have an optional software update to Android version 4.1.1/ Baseband version T999UVDLJC via Over The Air (OTA) and Samsung Kies. This update provides security enhancements and improved user experience.

You can update in two ways:
Over the air (OTA) update to T999UVDLJC: OTA push update is available as of 1/31/2013. Please wait for the notification to update. The OTA will continue to be delivered until Marth 8. The update is also available for manual update using Kies.
Manual download to T999UVDLJC: If you did not want to update via OTA, you can update via Samsung Kies. Ensure you are on the latest version of Kies prior to attempting the update. See http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ to confirm the version.

Recieved the update today as well. Thinkng it was 4.1.2 so I went ahead and updated it. Well unfortunately the update seems to be a "security improvement" for rootes and flashed devices. (Maybe to prevent th from getting 4.1.2, not sure).. Here's the problem I went to check for update and that annoying pop up that my device is modified came up.. so I opened up Triangle Away and reset the flash count to zero and click on"system modified workaround", rebooted amd nothing. Device status still shows as modified. I was always able to get it to say to normal using triangle away. This new update prevents it. Any help? Thanks

You have to be 100% stock (ROM, kernel, and recovery) in order to flash ota updates
