i voted for no
but TBH, i used the root until 4.3 on galaxy nexus to run some programs that required rooting, i'm using official rom anyways
as for KK , i hope i dont have to root it anytime soon and find good replacement for some needed apps, if not, i may root it , but after long time from now and i'll keep using the official rom or an official CM if better

Wait at least 2 weeks to know if you have a defective phone or not, if in 2 weeks you got no problems then consider Root.
Check: screen, camera, USB , Battery...ETC

I say no for now. The whole reason I root phones apart from adaway, is to clear it of crap. The Moto G comes with no crap, and you can always disable installed apps. If you really want the added functionality that root gives then you wouldn't be asking.

So far i have rooted for the following reasons -

    Titanium Backup
    Xposed Framework
    AdFree

Plus it also gives some antivirus software more features/control.

I say if aren't looking to use particular app that needs Root then don't bother.

I voted Yes even though I haven't rooted it yet (because I have to thoroughly test screen, camera, usb battery), here is why:

    - Titanium Backup,
    - AdFree
    - Tasker
    - disabling carier
    - adding extra fonts
    - adding my locale
    - ...other screen tweaks that can't be achieved with non root devices

If you have to be convinced then you don't need root.
