as I already said, pretty damn good and fast rom, but [always a but] I've been facing this thing...
I was trying to sleep when I feel a light in my face then I saw it was screen's phone, I thought it was a txt or something but it didn't vibrate nor ring so just let it be, a few seconds screen goes off, like 3 minutes or so it was on again and then off and it keeps doing it the whole night you can see at the screenshot...
no one facing this thing?
I've already reflashed, wiped everything, reboot, etc etc etc... still same "auto wake up" problem

Yes also have this flickering square in the top left hand corner, since I installed V5.0 and today 2 SoD as well with version V5.0. I have just restored V4.0 full as was much more stable, less battery usage and not the flickering square.

Well... here I go.
- Battery consumption is almost the same, I didn't notice any difference so it's a good thing (used 75% of it on a 15 hours middle use, wifi, a lot of brightness because it's so sunny here, games and installing some apps). I haven't installed any SetCPU or something similar, maybe this can improve the battery life if I choose a different governor, I will try later.
- You can't really read some text since the font and background are both black... but it's not really important text, so it's ok (some notifications and stuff).
- As you read before, I had an issue with the music app, but I fixed it and it seems that no one else had that problem.
- Some guys are getting some problems with a weird square at the top left of the screen, I am not having this issue.
- As I'm writing this, I'm realizing my data connection doesn't work... I will try to figure why.
Bottom line: As you can see from other comments this is a great ROM, give it a try, you won't regret. Check the other issues people are having here, maybe that can help you to make your decision. So far I'm staying with this ROM.

EDIT: I've found why 3G doesn't works and it's because the APN is not set. I posted it below (works only for the carrier Telcel in Mexico).

There are 2 problems i found in this ROM :
Advice : "disable focus sound" feature in camera would be great

you can flash huexxx's zip "LG_OSP_huexxx.zip" and it works...
now for the issue I've been calling [auto wake up] I'm really sorry it wasn't the rom but I've not realized it until redy point it out that it might be an app, and indeed it was an app "ICS battery widget" I install it since marvel v5 doesn't have one...
so it seems that everytime "ICS battery widget" refresh [to get batt info] it wakes up the screen...
my bad, I'm really sorry for blaming the rom without really knowing what happend

What was the reason for the flickering square? Where did it come from (I had the impression it was flickering when the phone was sending/receving data).

Marvel v 9 is a highly customizable ROM using AROMA installer - Feel the power of your LG Optimus Black , now is all in your hands !!!
Requirements:
1. Of course a rooted LG Optimus Black P 970 (Find infos how to root here: [HOW TO]The Big N00B how-to! - nooby's thread)
2. CWM / ROM Manager / other apps with CWM or capability of flashing from zip file.
How to use:
1. Backup - use NANDRIOD (just in case something went wrong)
2. Copy the zip file in your SD card (copy in root folder)
3. Boot in CMW, Clear Data/cache and choose "install zip from SDCARD" or
Use ROM Manager and choose install zip from SD card.
FAQ's:
Question: Why is the ROM so huge in size?
Answer: So you can have many, many installation options to choose from.
Question: Can I install this if I have Froyo, other Gingerbread or ICS ROMs?
Answer: Yes, just do factory reset and clear dalvik cache.
Question: How can I change installation options after installing Marvel?
Answer: Install/Flash again and choose options you need, without loosing apps and data. Just cleak dalvik-cache.
You can just install/flash again and again until you decided what combinations best suites your needs.
