Hello everyone, I picked up an EVO View recently after getting an awesome deal on it and I have brought viperROM Redline to the View! If you have never used viperROM on your device before, let me tell you what you can expect...

  • The best, smoothest, and fastest ROM out there
  • Great support (I try to answer every single post)

Update 12.24 - Redline v1
  • Latest Gingerbread base (1.22.651.1) with OC kernel by lovethyEVO
  • Virtuous_oc Daemon (default: screen off - 245/422, screen on - 245/1497)
  • viperControl for virtuous_oc control, undervolting, and more!
  • /data Apps: Facebook, Twitter, DSPManager, ICS Keyboard, Terminal Emulator, Root Browser, and Titanium Backup
  • Latest Market (v3.4.4)
  • ICS Transitions
  • 4-in-1 Reboot
  • Block all ads
  • Removed some bloat
  • viperROM boot animation and down animation
  • Tons of tweaks to build.prop, system, and kernel
  • 48mb Dalvik
  • Roboto font
  • Removed camera, boot animation, and camcorder sounds
  • Zipalign all apps on boot
  • SIP/VOIP enabled over 3G/4G
  • Download Redline v1 from HERE!



Issues/Bugs/Notes
Note: The old Superuser was intentionally used because the latest app doesn't format the pop-up correctly. You can update it, but you will notice the app and pop-up doesn't scale to the screen very well.

As graffixnyc just pointed out to me... this is in the wrong section. I have no idea when they created the View section, but it wasn't there the other day lol mods, please move this there!

All fixed now, thanks!

Viper glad to see you on the View. Been using your Evo 3d rom since it came out. Looking forward to what magic you do with this nice litttle tablet.

I don't see what this is supposed to do for me, I can't even get the WIFI to turn on.


WiFi works for me. Wipe data/cache/dalvik, reflash and then wipe cache before powering on

Tried this on second attempt didn't change a thing.

Sure glad I made a backup

Thanks :) and just the standard crap like Sprint apps, the ereader app, that stuff. Check on your sdcard in /viperROM/removed_apps or use viperControl to see the names as well. I will update the thread later after work.

I will still make a HC ROM, but I really only build off of RUUs since I'm all about stability :)

As others have reported, wifi works. Thats the only way I use mine so I would have caught that bug lol

2333 in Quadrant on this ROM.

With contradude ROM I was able to hit 2611.

Still, not bad.

I love the ability to boot into recovery and fastboot w/o pressing vol buttons.

    Modifying phone.apk has some consequences.

    Best way is rename vdmc.apk in the /system/app folder.
