If you search for Quickoffice in the Android Market it appears there is a full free version especially for the Captivate. Seems like that is a $15 saving for us. It is a very cool app and works well.

Yes. I tried all those file formats and they worked fine.

i've searched on the market on my captivate and it shows it paid app.

do you have to be on att 3g or something? I was using home wifi.

Yeah iwad wrong it's available.i was using on wifi.you have to be on at&t network.nice move by at&t.

I am guessing that the desk home and car home apps are for desk and car dock accessories.

No you don't. I downloaded it in Airplane mode in Canada via WiFi.
