Remove carrier information to disable wifi tethering

I am running 4.3. The phone is rooted and unlcoked. Cannot seem to make the phone a hot spot.

Error messages:
Network not available an try again
incorrect settings

tethering vial works file with pha net. Can anyone help. Thanks.

on mk2? Xblast Installer with Wanam did the trick for me... have a search around play storw for both and follow directions
