Check your message hub, most of new Tango features are there like adding picture, videos or ringtones, the rest is related with memory management.

Hi guys here are some curious facts about v7.5

> 7.000 downloads in 12 hours (report generated 9:00 this morning)
> v7.5 was downloaded from 20 countries
> 38% downloads are from...China :eek:
> 0.6% are from my home country Portugal :(

is it about the same ...or its a big upgrade

it is not the same as there's some improvements in the message hub but its not a big upgrade thought, we need Apollo.

Tango will most benefit 2gen low spec devices and as the camera concerns did not notice any change.

Hey dot,

I always use the English interface but having a Portuguese keyboard is very handy.

Am I assuming correctly there is no such a thing in this release?

Being that the case, I guess I'll have to wait for the next update... :-(

Bluetooth

Good morning dotcopt,
using the ROM 7.3 identified my s9 headset (motorola) via bluetooth quickly.
But, rom 7.5 to the device is not identified.
what can I do?

Ignore my message, apparantly after 2 more reflashes and rebooting my device when the battery was full its now more or less stable, hope it stays that way.

So with that said, thanks a lot for the ROM update!

dot great room and as it is the first time I see the supertool that is also very good.

I do seem to have one issue. Under cellular I have an option highest connection speed and I have only two options Edge - E or 3G however I always had HSDPA on any previous rom. Now phone shows H next to connection bar but I can tell you internet is slower.

Is it just my issue? I have a T-Mobile UK in use now and until I flashed this room all was fine.

Can anyone in UK confirm they have only those two option available or is it more, mainly asking T-Mobile uk users.

few concerns

Het Dot,

thanks for another great ROM. I just flashed 7.5 earlier today and found a few things. Installing Nokia drive from DS Marketplace worked, but showed up as @/Applications/Local. I sideloaded the xap and it worked fine, so I tried updating with DSM, and same result. any thoughts?

Also, I cant seem to get Panorama and burst shot modes to work. Options show up, but never takes a picture.

Texting a picture gives me an error of "Can't send media content. contact your mobile operator to adjust your settings" TMOUS here, sent plenty of pics before, been running DS ROMs since version 2. I cant attach a video as well, just goes to the picture hub.

4Chan reader app no longer shows any pictures - not sure if that is related, but it worked on v7.2

Just to state it, I have this issue with the shot modes too, it shows up, it even shows the line for if you're still shooting straight but there is no way you are able to take a picture in these 2 modes. (not that id use it that often anyway but seeing the option's there.. :))

As for the rest I have no experience and don't have the xap installed on my ROM however I have nokia drive 2.0 (sideloaded) and it shows up just fine as Nokia Drive in my App list. (do note that the file was called "Nokia Navigation 2.0.xap", maybe you have a different version)

When I sideloaded, I used Nokia Drive 2.0.xap. It did show up in the app list just fine. It is only when I installed or updated Nokia Drive from the Deepshining Marketplace that I had a problem. I found some post in this thread from other people that had the same problem. Maybe there is something wrong with the file on Dot's server.

No big deal, just friendly feedback

I am gonna give you an hint. Download Nokia Creative Studio from DS Marketplace. It has panorama feature that works pretty well.

Thanks, I will check that out. Any thoughts on not be able to send any attachments with texts or why 4chan apps are not showing pictures? Also, i am currently working on changing my radio. According to my settings, the radio that installed with 7.5 was 5.65.09.25a_22.45.50.21u which might explain why my cellular data is not working or giving "h" as an option. I am currently getting error 240 with task 00 trying to download a mango radio. Now, how did I fix that before.............:confused:

flashed 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U and 5.69.09.29a_22.50.50.21U radios, but still no cellular data here - anyone have any thoughts on what to try next?

ok. looks like its a tmobile problem. my wifes android(eek) phone is doing the same thing, even though tmobile said they have are having no network issues. Cant wait for Apollo so maybe VZW will pickup a better WP7 phone, and I can change change to a good network

scratch that - after playing with the wife's phone, she just had some setting wrong. 3g is working for her, still not for me. stuck again - reflashing I guess

just making a running log here for information purposes

flashed to stock rom. cell data working - text with pics working - 4chan reader not showing pics still - maybe an app issue

flashed DS 7.5 twice more - still no cell data

flashed DS 7.3 i had previously downloaded, but never got around to flashing - no cell data

looked at other Roms, but couldnt find anything I liked - going stock

Hi.Maybe you could try to run Connection setup.I had also problems with data and also couldn´t send mms, but after runing connection setup, everything is working fine.

Yeap, Connection setup should be the first thing to do after flashing a rom. Hope it helps as it is kind of sad see someone going back to a stock rom. ;-)

    How to improve your battery life:
    1. Turn On battery Saver in Settings > System > Battery Saver.
    2. Goto Settings > Applications > background tasks > and switch off apps running in background like HTC Hub, it drains battery a lot.
    3. Use Black Background and HTC Green Accent.
    4. Disable Locations Service in Settings if you dont think this is a usefull feature.
    5. Disable Geo-tagging feature in Settings, you can simply turn it off from Settings, Applications, Pictures & Camera and choose Off from the “include location (GPS) information in pictures you take.".
    6. Data roaming is another feature that eats the battery's energy, if you are not using it you can turn the feature off from Settings and Mobile Network.
    7. I recommned to turn off 3G connectivity if you're not using it for faster Internet browsing.
    8. Also disable Connections like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi as much as you can, use it only when you need it.
    9. Adjust Screen Brightness in Settings. Automatically is by default and drains battery a lot. Switch is off ans set level to "medium".
    10. Another battery eater - Change Email Interval in you Inbox Settings, default is 30 change it to "Hourly" or even better "manually".
    11. Turn Off Xbox Live Auto Connect in Settings > applications > Games.
    12. Conenct to your PC via USB cable. You can sync your device via Wifi but this will drain your battery fast.

    Also, if you are a ROM addict and flash your device severall times be aware that battery needs 2 or 3 full cycles to stabilize.

    Q: How to deploy XAPs?
    A:
    1. You need to connect your phone to your desktop
    2. Start Zune and wait for Zune to discover your phone.
    3. Run Multiple Xap and make sure your device is not screen locked.
    4. Deploy Xaps

    Q: My device is not unlocked anymore and I lost all deepshining features. Why?
    A: XboxMod WP7 Update Cab Sender tool may be the reason, avoid use it.
    or
    A: You´ve run HTC Connection Setup twice. Running HTC Connection Setup for a second time may lock your device again.


    Q: I have Mango already installed can I flash this ROM?
    A: Yes, but make sure to verify if your Bootloader version IS NOT 4.xx or 5.XX (goto settings > about > more info).

    Hi guys,

    You can read in the title of this post this is not a message for rejoicing, well at least for most of you.

    As you may already know lately I've been disappointed to where XDA is heading. I remember back in the good old WM6.5 days where everyone was glad to share their work and leaked builds.

    Now those days are gone and people prefer to keep stuff and not share, which I may understand in some cases because there are some members that just use the "copy and paste".

    But things went to far and now there are groups of people holding on stuff from community that do not even share simple things like clean Microsoft SYS builds. No matter who you ask they just dont share.

    And if someone has the chance to release something new that person is bashed with PMs and their thread is closed.
    Remember my Windows Phone 7.8 Deepshining BETA ROM - NO SCAM ? it was closed in the next day by a moderator.

    It was told that my thread was closed because, and I quote "that rom was not ment to be on public (its even marked, that means it can be traced back to the real leaker".
    Bull****. It seems that the latest RTM build is not marked. Do you believe this?

    Well, I am sad to see some Recognized Contributors, some Recognized Devs and worst some Moderators are playing this game and I am sure things will not change in the future.

    So I made a decision for good and make the final cut. Yes, I will leave XDA today and this is my final post. After posting this message I will ask Mods to close my threads with the reason why. Don´t know if they care but I´ll do it any way.

    This does not mean I am gone, I just won´t be here at XDA, so for those guys that enjoy my work you should follow me on Twitter or visit my blog, I know it is a little bit forgotten but from now on I will post my apps and my Roms there after I make a small makeover on the blog.

    These years at XDA were fun but it is time to move on to a different place.
