Hi,
I attempted to root my friend SIII using odin as usual, unfortunately it failed and I'm stuck with "an error while upgrading the firmware". Apparently the download mode shows that the phone is SGH-i747, while I'm pretty sure before the phone was bricked that the about phone screen showed that it's the international (GT-I9300) variant. Now I'm not even sure what stock firmware to re-install. note that behind the battery the model is shown to be GT-I9300 too.
Is there a way to verify the model number while the phone is soft bricked? I wish I thought of checking of how much RAM at least this phone had before rooting it but unfortunately I just thought the about phone screen is enough.
