I bought an Aldi Medion branded portable charger...it's around 7800mah from memory and holds enough to recharge 2-3 times roughly...my only gripe is that it's really slow to recharge like using usb port

It's red and gray, right?

I'd still say get an off brand battery pack on Amazon instead of dishing out for any official battery packs. They really shouldn't cost more than $40. Unless you like the design of Mophie/HTC/Motorola's, of course.

it's orange and grey and best buy has it for 60 something dollars, but I got mine for free with my m8...

Well, that does it then - since it's orange I will have to find a way to get it... I remember when it came out last year that some sources said it was orange, but others said it was red, and the of course the picture/render is like a reddish color... >_<

Hmm.. I guess I'll have to google it.

I've been using an Anker Slim battery pack which I can slide into my pocket along with the M8.

The HTC battery bar is way too big to be put in my pocket, but if it has QuickCharge, I might not need it in my pocket at all. Makes it a tempting option.
