Which Bootloader froyo or gingerbread

Hello all,

I am running now MIUI 1.9.2 Android version 2.3.5.

i want to install a custom kernel but forgot which bootloader i started from..
Froyo or Gingerbread? How can we know?

OR how can we get a gingerbread bootloader without wiping everything?

You don't have to wipe anything.. just flash bootloader using Odin...you can download gingerbread bootloaders from here http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=16374373&postcount=70 ... having gingerbread bootloaders is better

so just odin 1.7 bootloader flash and repartition off?

btw which kernel is better in your opinion?
