OK so to flash some of these ROMs you need a custom kernel with CWM recovery, however both of the only 2 custom kernels are not exactly practical to use because people are having issues with both (because one is beta and the other one has been abandoned). Did I get that right?
At the moment, v0.0.2d will be your most stable option. However, rc2 has BLN capability. I recommend you root first using the current version of Super One Click then use SGS Kernel Flasher from the market.
For the noob - rc2 might have reboots and rc3 has reported faster battery drain. Both have BLN. v0.0.2d does not have people reporting reboots or battery drain. Also, no BLN.
What kernel are you running?

So I was just following another tutorial and I am an absolute noob. So I was going to flash Clockwork Mod through Overstock and then AFTER I already did it and everything the kid then explains to me it doesn't work with the Samsung Galaxy S 4G.
I was wondering if anyone had a .tar file that worked with the Samsung Galaxy S 4G?
Or can someone tell me how to recover my phone to factory settings?
Thanks!
Is there any form of clockwork mod I can use with Odin to put onto my Samsung Galaxy S 4G so that I can continue the flashing of this MIUI rom?
Thanks!
I keep getting this error when running what you told me to -
Downloading device's PIT file...
PIT file download sucessful
Local and device PIT files don't match and repartition wasn't specified!
Ending session...
Rebooting device...
And then it just reboots with the "Overstock" logo and just sits there.
