OK I did some searching (which I should have done before asking, sorry) and found if you move or remove /system/csc/customer.xml you will get rid of the att carrier on lockscreen.

Flashing via Mobile Odin in the Update zip box?
Hey guys, I was just wondering if I could flash this ROM via Mobile Odin in the OTA/Update ZIP box? I wanna inject SuperSU and Mobile Odin and I was just wondering if this would work or if it would cause a hard brick. Thanks!!

The main link is rooted with a few add on's just the completely stock I did not root or insecure the boot for adb. Root is easily achieved by flashing SuperSU in recovery
They are recovery flashable. Do not flash them with mobile odin. Although they're is a link to the official .tar file linked in the op that you could use Mobile odin with

I modified the SecSettings.apk (with wifi notify disabled) from the OP to include blocking mode as shown in this thread:

Its an easy modification but if you just want to use the one I created, it should work fine. I've not had any issues. For some reason the blocking mode icon drove me nuts and I had to remove it. It would be nice if it only came on during the time it was actually in blocking mode.
Here's a link to the SecSetting.apk. (Just replace the one in system/app.)

You are my hero! It's driving me crazy too (not sure why). I tried decompiling that file, but wasn't having good luck. I'll use yours to fix it, but definitely need to figure out what I was doing wrong when trying to muck with the SecSettings file.

I really could use a version just like that which doesn't have any other mods in it. That way we have a good base to start with, and let everyone add whichever mods they want to after the fact.

hold on i messed up the flasher, I'll fix it here in a min. Even though it worked for me I accidentally put it in the Framework folder... Derp. I hope not to many flashed that.
So if you flashed the New SystemUI with Blocking Mode notifications removed. Please use a root explorer go to your system\framework and delete the SystemUI.apk
Reboot into Recovery
Flash the new zip
Wipe Cache and Dalvik

I'm making a build with init.d support right now.
And if you want custom boot animations try this http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=30482620&postcount=5 I'm going to try this later since I don't know how to enable it in the Kernel.

Important:
1. If installing with the newest TWRP when you go to reboot it will come up with an warning that you have lost root permissions... This is not the case. It's either a bug with TWRP or it's not recognizing the new SuperSU. Either way it will give you an option to fix it. If you select "Do not fix" you will be just fine and you will indeed have a rooted phone. I suggest "Do not fix"
2. On a clean install the SystemUI will probably Force Close upon first boot. No worries, it will only do it once. This happens because of the clock mod and the automatic network time setting not syncing right away.
3. I suggest you reflash the new kernel package found below as adb root has been fixed. Seems the kitchen did not give proper root through adb support.

- Reverted Kernel to Stock UCDLK3 (some were experiencing wakelocks and battery drains. LL1 kernel is available in the add-ons)
- Fixed the missing blocking mode from settings
- Added Bash... have future plans for this.
Known Issues:
- Group Messaging does not work like it should... still investigating
- Text notifications might be cut short when you have a lot of texts in your threads.
- 23 Toggles: Some Toggles like NFC don't toggle. But Long press the Toggles it will take you to that setting.
- Ink Effect: Screen will sometimes flash the selected color.
- Kies: may or may not work. I did remove the Kies.apk's, Flashable http://d-h.st/nE4
