I'm not sure if it matters, but the checksum doesn't match when comparing the KH7 modem provided here and the one inside the stock KH7 firmware.

Interesting... do you have the checksum matching version? I don't know if it matters either, but I'd rather have the "checksum matching" version. Better to be safe... Can you upload it? I'll revise once I have it.

Thanks!

I would guess that the modem.bin in the stock distribution from sammobile.com/firmware, which you can get from the Download Repository would have the same checksum as the one that came with the phone. Maybe Ryude could check it and see.

I got the Odin firmware from samfirmware.com, but it should be the same as any stock firmware.

MD5 for the KH7 modem in this thread: 7F46F1FB83DEDC9FC4082FE2FF221A83
MD5 for the KH7 modem in the stock firmware: D0CF0E5B21B450633D53A64EBAA50DEE

Same exact filesize though.

Using UCLC2 on UCKH7, signal seems to go in and out a lot. Data seems faster. Not enough time to say standby battery drain.

I went back to uckk6. Usage and stand by drain were higher footer me in my low signal area. No speed environments for me as well.

Agree... I ran UCLC2 for a couple of days and wasn't impressed. It works well as long as the signal is strong. In marginal areas, I saw edge when I would previously only drop to 3G. My bars were fluctuating pretty bad as well.

... back to UCKK6

I've added the new UCLC5 Modem... How about some feedback on it.

As of now with the little testing I have had with the CLC5 modem (I am liking these modems cuz they are my initials :)) I have had the best data I've had on any of the modems I've used thus far. The signal seems to be a bit better than the other ones I have used too but I havent had any change of environment so this is all based on an area with good signal. Also cant comment on standbye battery drain either yet. Dayton, Ohio area.

UCLC2 didn't provide any improvement; it was about the same as others. UCPLC5, however, is a significant improvement. I typically get 4-5 down; with the new one, it's turned into 7-9.
