Hi,

I recently installed FXP 207 CM10 on my xperia J and now I would like to temporarily go back to a stock rom.

I've installed Flashtool 0.9.10.1 and the flashmode drivers (from C:\Flashtool\drivers). Then I follow normal flashing process and everything seems to go smoothly except that the progress bar stays at 0% (no errors). This seems similar to http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2089275 except it's with an Xperia J and unfortunately problem remains when in PTP.

Here's the Flashtool log:

23/006/2013 13:06:48 - INFO - <- This level is successfully initialized

23/014/2013 13:14:27 - INFO - Device disconnected

What I've tried so far:

- Debug mode and unknown sources activated
- PC companion is not running in the background
- Tried with MTP and PTP mode
- Tried with 3 different cables
- Tried different usb ports (front and back)
- Tried leaving my finger on the volume down button during the whole process
- Tried on a Win 7 64 and on an XP sp3 32 (The win xp is a virtual machine but the issue is exactly the same)
- tried with 3 different ftf files (1x .28, 1x .18 and 1x .7.5)
- Bootloader was unlocked using Sony official method
- in http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2124168&page=4 satan89 advised to first flash a Rom based on stock Rom ( and that did the trick for a Tipo), but is there such a rom for the xperia J ? I looked but couldn't find one :(
- I tried after flashing official kernel with fastboot first but same issue afterward
- I Installed AOKP (KXP) and tried again but still 0%

I really don't know what to try anymore, do you have any ideas of what could cause the issue?

Man what are you doing????!!!! You must enter fastboot mode. I see that its write in flashtool log what you copy green light this is for flashing but you must fastboot , you must to turn off phone hold volume up button and connect usb cable. You will see Blue led light and youre in fastboot mode, just flash .sin files...

Hi all,

Thanks for all your replies guys, much appreciated.

I just tried with Flashtool 0.9.0.0 and 0.8.6.0 and the same thing happens, the only difference is that with 0.8.6.0, it gets stuck on "24/021/2013 01:21:48 - INFO - Flashing loader" instead of "23/007/2013 13:07:59 - INFO - Flashing data". Tomorrow I'll try with older versions of Flashtool but without much hope.

For the moment I don't have access to another physical windows machine, that's why I tried on a Mac with VMware, but I'll try soon on another PC and update the thread.

2010matej, I tried in fastboot mode, but nothing happens when I press 'volume up' and the led is blue. I did flash the kernel extracted from the ftf I'm trying to install prior to flashing though (using ' fastboot flash boot kernel.sin) and then tried to flash again but same behavior afterward.

Thanks for the help.

Have you tried flashing just the kernel in flashmode

Hi gavster26, sorry, didn't get a chance to test till today: so I flashed just the kernel with flashtool (in flashmode) and it still gets stuck on 'Flashing data' except that the progress bar goes to 29% with 11.0.A.7.5 and 30% with .18 and .28 then it stops and green led turns off, still no error message.

I thought this could be a driver issue so I tried after installing the driver from the ST26.zip (from thread http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2033114) but still the exact same.

If you've any ideas, I'm all ears.

There is a safety feature with the devices where they auto boot if they are left in flash mode or fastboot mode for too long. Only connect the device in the relevant mode AFTER the file has been prepared and flashtool tells you to connect it.

Fastboot is used to flash kernels
