Volume rocker problem

Sometimes my volume rocker doesn't work to change the volume of my ringer. I'm at the home screen and attempting to mute or raise my volume and it doesn't work. I have to some times restart but most times it fixes itself after I turn the screen off.

Are you using a custom ROM? It sounds like a software glitch if the phone fixes itself once the screen is turned off or the phone is restarted.

Looks like a factory reset is in order then.

I agree with @drdagreenphd. Factory reset should fix this issue and if it doesn't then you should send the phone back in for a warranty replacement.
