Ok uploaded. This uploaded as 38KB. The original PNG on my computer is 232kb. It downsized. But the full size 232kb looks soft and pixelated. the original file on my phones internal memory is SHARP and brilliant.

Basically after sending an MMS, and you click on it, it should display full screen like in ICS. But instead it's displaying exactly like on a stock T989 (like 1/3rd screen and pixelated/slightly soft) but it IS strange that its displaying a large file size (150kb+) which IS normal and should show sharply/full screen. but it displays tiny and soft.

I switched back from ICS rom because (chicago) was laggy and wifi calling delayed. possible to port the ICS MMS over to this??

I will continue to test it some more to see if anything changes. other than that, this rom is very speedy and reliable. i like it a lot. The fact that MMS file sizes are showing large again (150kb+) is at least a good sign.

I am an avid photographer so I can definitely tell there's a sharpness difference between displayed from phones internal memory and on MMS. Again the ICS MMS runs perfect.. if only it could be like that! :)

I highly doubt any complaints about bugs in versions that are not the current/latest version of the rom are going to be addressed.

Upgrade to the newest version (2.7) and then if you still have issues you can post about them.

Sorry buddy but im not complaining or asking for a fix. This rom is the **** i was only saying it was weird because it rebooted like that.

TDJ, so you're not going to release the new GB rom or did I misunderstand your comment in the other thread?

Have you tried saving the recieved mms to the sd card and viewing it from the gallery/? If so, do you have the same results?

Hey TDJ, I'm not sure of this is a bug with the ROM or not but I noticed this yesterday. When video recording, a couple minutes in after you started recording, it gets laggy. I'm going to test to see if I can reproduce what it did when I was recording last night. I'm thinking out might also be the fact that it was recording to the external sd instead of internal. I'll try that as well. Other than that, great stuff. I'll probably wait until you get the source for ICS before I leave this beauty.

As the pics linked above, and per my previous post, the result is drastically different. When viewed directly from SD card, all pics are normal and sharp.

Once the photos have entered the MMS/compression phase, they are drastically altered to the point of being soft. In ICS MMS, these photos are FULL excellence/sharp/full-size in MMS.

Your original post states you fixed the MMS problem. just wondering what you did to fix it? and can we copy over ICS MMS?

No u can't copy over anything from ics. U miss understanding me. The mms that u r receiving, if you save that recieved mms to the sd card then view it from the gallery, does it give the same results as if you are viewing the MMS in slide show format. I would give you exact me u commands to save the recieved mms but I am not running this rom. U need to try and save the recieved mms to the SD card. In gb, after receiving a mms it doesn't open in the gallery, it opens in a "slide show" mode and doesn't display the picture in all its quality. So by saving it first then viewing should give the results u r looking for

OK I tested it and you're right. Saving an MMS directly to the card/phone and reopened yields sharp results.

Any way to make it show up sharp in the immediate "slide show" view? Why does it show like crap there? I want to be able to instantly open up an MMS and see it nicely the first time. I don't understand what t-mobile/samsung did here and why its crappy.. wonder if theres a way to fix/hack it?

unfortunately there is no way to bypass the "slideshow" view. Design flaw by Samsung.

I don't know if anyone has answered this (I merely scimmed through the thread since I don't have enough time to go through almost 100 pages). It seems I cannot flash this ROM with applied tags. What I mean is, for example, at the end of the file name I added "-twmod-volwake" and flashed. ROM installed and ran just fine but tw was not modified to be 5x4x5 nor did the volume keys wake the device.
Any help?
Thanks in advance for reading.

Make sure your flashing from ROOT of your sd or flags will not work.

Best results are downloading on a computer and doing the renaming of the file there. Less change of screwing it up compared to downloading straight to phone.
I place my roms in it's own directory and it flashes fine.

@TDJ, how does Samsung bypass it in ICS? Cause ICS bypasses it. Shows up sharp/full-size immediately.

I understand it does. It shows sharp immediately because it opens directly into the gallery, not the "slide show" mode. I have already explained this a few posts above. Its not something u just bypass, its the way its coded in Samsung source..

    • KL1 Android 2.3.6
    • Deodexed (Thanks @raycaster3)
    • CIQ Free
    • Touch or Touchless - included in one ROM - available with flag
    • DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE - available with flag
    • Blurry MMS fixed (@TDJ)
    • MMS over WIFI/WIFI CALLING

    • BLN support for STOCK messaging app
    • BLN support for "most" other apps
    • SIP over 3g/4g
    • Modified Stock Browser
    • Modified TW Launcher

    Working:
    • DATA
    • MMS
    • WIFI
    • WIFI CALLING
    • MMS OVER WIFI/WIFI CALLING
    • GPS
    • BLUETOOTH
    • WIRELESS TETHER
    • USB TETHER

    Known Issues:
    • You tell me...

    TOUCH Includes:
    -Default install with no flags
    • TouchWiz UI
    • All stock Samsung apps

    TOUCHLESS Includes:
-Installed using '-notw' flag at end of file name
    • Removes TouchWiz UI
    • Zeam Launcher
    • Removes most Samsung apps

    Add flags to filename:

An adaptation of @waydownsouth's script, I have modified and created a script that allows for flexibility with how I can create and user can install a ROM. *PLEASE READ* this next section carefully and only proceed with a full understanding of what you are about to do. Ask any questions within the thread before doing so...

    Available flags:
    • -wipe
    • -notw
    • -twmod
    • -nobatt
    • -volwake
What SUPER DARKSIDE WIPE flag does:
    • -wipe = A full wipe that is much more through and is HIGHLY suggested over any wipe options in recovery menu. It will also format partitions to EXT4 (NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL USER DATA! DOESN'T TOUCH SD CARD/EMMC!)
    • -notw = (No TouchWiz - TOUCHLESS) This will remove the TouchWiz UI and mostly all Samsung apps and Widgets. I left some of the more requested apps in. By not adding this flag you will get a STOCK KL1 Build.
    • -twmod = Installs a 5x4x5 modified TW Launcher. (See screen shot below)
    • -nobatt = Completely disables the 100% battery pop-up and notification.
    • -volwake = Enables volume buttons to wake the device (Just as power button)
If no -wipe flag is added to the end of file name it will not wipe...

Adding flags to the file name:

    If default file name is:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ.zip[/B]

To perform a SUPER.DARKSIDE.WIPE by adding -wipe flag to end of file name:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ[B][COLOR="red"]-wipe[/COLOR][/B].zip[/B]

To flash a TOUCHLESS ROM and perform a SUPER.DARKSIDE.WIPE by adding -notw and -wipe flag to end of file name:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ[B][COLOR="red"]-wipe-notw[/COLOR][/B].zip[/B]

Get IT??? Its as simple as adding available flag to the end of the file name.

*PLEASE NOTE* The file name must also contain no spaces or else it will not work!!

    Kernel Info:
    • Kernel base: 2.6.35.14
    • Included Version: DARKSIDE X v2 RC2 *UNRELEASED* - lets keep it that way for now...
More info found in my other thread [HERE]

What i am am about to say is real talk. v2.6 is going to update to my new v3 kernel. I rebased off the latest skyrocket source that was released in the end of February. If you don't things could get and more smooth, snappy, and more battery efficient.. you're in for a treat! I also will be including a script that can set a predefined profile, you may have seen screen shots I have posted. No eta on release so don't ask.. not sure what other changes, if any, will be included.

I also have to say that this board is in rough shape. A lot people think I like to "troll" these boards and cause drama. I just want to clear this up and let people know that I am only looking out for the better of the community. A lot of people here don't really know a lot of the technical sides of android and our device. I really hate to see people get screwed over by someone that really doesn't have a clue but needs to try and feel important on xda. I am honestly looking out for our community and try to weed out the garbage as best I can. I don't care what people think of me and I don't care what people say. I do what I say and say what I do. I have contributed plenty to this board and never leave you guys hanging. Honestly outside team kang there hasn't been much actual development since I migrated over here. I appricate that people are eager to learn, but its a damn shame the ego that comes along with having your own thread...

With v2.6 I think its going to be time to take a break because honestly, **** is ridiculous over here. OK vent over... carry on my dudes
